Hmm, I'm curious to hear about that, too. My Rx can and breather will be here tomorrow and after 22 months of bone stock I'll be doing a mod. My dad pointed out the 2 breathers on his '59 Buick Electra convertible. Talk about a mean looking automobile.

Is the can catching a good amount of oil? You may need to do another mod I can PM you the instructions for.

I have not checked the can but I will tonight. I should have about 3000 miles since it was installed. I also wonder if using the Oil cap breather and the Vararam supplied breather together may be causing a problem. What are you thoughts with that?

Thanks

I was thinking you should put a plug in the hose that Vararam uses with their breather when using the RX oil cap breather. But I'll let Tracy confirm.

Yes, you need to plug the clean side when using the oil cap breather.

Does the clean side need to be plugged when using a stock air intake and breather? My guess would be no but just double checking thanks!

After about 3500 miles the catch can collected about 2-3 ounces. So I feel that it is catching correctly.

I would say it does need to be plugged as the reason of the oil breather cap is to eliminate one source of oil getting into the engine (clean side PCV line). Here is a thread from SC2150 for the V8, but it's still the same concept: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109420 .

So now I am confused. If you have a V6 and are installing the catch can and the breather kit do you need to cap off something in order for it to operate correctly?

Yes, even with the catch can, if you got the optional oil cap breather, you need to plug or cap off the clean side pcv line.

Kmorpheus,

Damn, sorry dmullen, i may have advised you incorrectly on pm. i wasn't aware or told to cap a clean side line on the stock v6, and didn't have any written instruction to do so. I guess i will have to look for this on mine tonight. At least i will pull the breather and put stock cap back on to see if anything changes, maybe this is why my gas mileage sucks lately. Anybody link to pic of caping off for v6?

The cap and breather and valve come as one part, just unscrew stock cap, screw in rx cap with breather on top of it. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109420 has pic of it.
