The new E is nice but kinda meh to me. The 5 is simply an outstanding car. Unbelievable fuel economy for the size, 31 mpg I believe. The new GS is intrigueing. Not sure I like the styling, but Lexus does a lot right. Of those in your ride and drive, 3 likes the A6. How was the interior of the Lexus? Anything new or exciting or just well done?

There's this thread..... except for picture friday when the ladies show off their new boots, and any time one of the fellas takes a viagra, it's kind of like Smack's house, pretty tame..... the only rules are, you can never talk about mid-terms or say nom nom nom

The pic was so nice, he did it TWICE! haha... Pete likes his Kate...and Edith, too (pic to follow)...
Interiors, Number 3: ALL had their "best suits"...the GS with its 16-way (or was it 18-way?!) seat was head-'n-shoulders above. 12" nav. screen (!), two-toned supple leathers...what folks used to talk about the vaunted Audi ergonomics has been (at least) matched, if not bested, dash-wise. Benz was just plain uncomfortable....short seat bottoms hit you mid-thigh, hard (not just firm), and not supportive. "Plastic-y", dull, so understated you ran the risk of sleep apnia. Surprizingly, the softest rider (non-AMG'd). Best drivetrain: A tie, in my books, 'tween the twin-turbo Beamer and the super'd V6 A6 (both with 8-speeds); Lexus 3rd with the 3.5/6-speed (where's the IS-F 8-speed? That money is inside); Benz 4th. My b-i-l has a CTS Sport 3.6/6-speed manual...uncomfortable back seat compared to any of these (I'm 6-1), and NOT in this Class as far as structual integrity and overall feel/execution. Coming version? Maybe...but leaps are required, NOT incremental steps... I mentioned the mid-'90s STS: At that moment in time, the STS was as close to World Class as any Caddie had been in a l-o-n-g time (relative to its "competition") but, like the Pontiac STE in early '80s, it was a fleeting moment...and simply did not "keep up". XTS: My take is it will out-room the coming ES and these 4, above. Fine for families, but with FWD-only, will not seriously play in this "drivers group". Long overdue for the traditional Caddie loyalists...but will it "conquer"? I think there'll be a better chance (amongst these) for a very well-done CTS...driving the proper (and all) wheels...but there is little margin for "miss". "Good enough" execution will make the CTS think of Little Big Horn... So much for my personal "Motorweek" moment! Speaking of "reality TV": I vote Kim Kardasian as HouZe Mutha...since we all, here, seem to enjoy "the driving experience", what better person to represent our "motoring mantra" than "Curveacious Kim"?! I mean Anna Nicole is gone, baby... BTW, here's the lovely Kate, and equally fetching Edith... "Caution: Curves Ahead"... Last edited by LOWDOWN; 02-09-2012 at 11:11 AM. Reason: Adding the lovely Kate and equally fetching Edith... |

This just came to me...
IF we can get the 1LE into production as an SS upgrade, perhaps it would be a much shorter step, then, to get an "upgrade of an upgrade"...read that as a "power enhancement", after the fact...but "time is running out" on Gen-5... [tick...tick...tick...] |
