Works great. You just need to carry a bottle of super glue with you so you can make it stay on during a fill up.

You couldn't figure out how to use it correctly? Should GM put a detailed explanation in the owner's manual for 2012?

Just in case the picture above doesn't describe it adequately, here's what you need to do:

1) Unscrew gas cap.
2) Find cable connecting gas cap to car.
3) (This is a tricky part) Line cable up with opening of hook.
4) (Another tricky part) Release cable and let it sit on the hook.
5) Refuel Camaro.
6) (Yet another tricky part) Remove cable from hook.
7) Screw gas cap back.

It sounds like some people are trying to put the actual gas cap on the hook rather than the cable that attaches it to the car.

Glad it's working the way intended for some. A lot of people have had to rig up their own way of keeping it on the hook. Myself a hair band on loan from my daughter. Mine would come off the hook the minute you started filling or removing the nozzle. Left two tiny indents and didn't want more. It also didn't need to be bumped to come off hook either before anyone asks.

Mine never stayed put when I did that. The plastic would come loose then the cap would fall and hit the car. Erick helped me out and installed a velcro tab above the hook and a piece wrapped around the plastic cable. Problem solved.
