I own three GM's of various years...we have 6 in our fleet. 04 Corvette and XLR, 2006 GMC Sierra and Yukon Denali, 2007 Buick Enclave and 2008 Escalade. All have been 1000% trouble free with only oil changes needed on ANY of the three. No rattles, no squeeks (even in the Sierra) and no issues. Ever. My brother has had two Toyotas...his $47,000+ Sienna van has been in the shop for everything and it eats tires in 16-18k miles. Quality? I think not. I also know of other people with Toyotas with everything from squeeks and rattles to failures of multiple components.
Do the Tacoma frames ring a bell with anyone out there? Ever see that on a domestic? |

Don't take this the wrong way, but anecdotal stories don't really trump a quality study. You can pretty much name a car and I can google search it and find someone who has had issues with it. As I've said before, I personally know several people with the Allison/Duramax combo that were plagued with issues. I don't use this as proof that GM sucks- I love GM and I think they've worked these issues out.
What I take out of this is it's good news that the perception of American car quality may be improving in general. It's just going to take 10 years of good press before you get to the point where the general population thinks quality=Chevy. |

I build Toyota cars for a living i have never put one on my driveway in the 10+ years ive worked there. I ask they salesman hand me the keys to your sports car so he handed me keys to a corolla SRX. They build a great product but nothing in there line up turns my crank unless they bring this to light

Some of the top ratings Toyato and Honda get are received before the car is even sold, they get the benefit of the doubt. Also the surveys from customers can be easily manipulated.
