if someone was undecided on which rear to choose, 9 inch or dana, what would you recommend and why?

For a mega power car I'd go 9", it's a proven power holder. I like the Dana for its OEM gear like smoothness but you can't beat a 9" for its big range of gear selections and all the different choices of posi's and spools you can run plus it's ability to hold some crazy power.

I don't mean to disagree, I just want to learn.

I understand that the 9 inch has more ratios available, but because I will be using the 3.73 (which is available in the dana s60), ratio availability is not a concern for me.

why recommend the ford 9 inch when:

the dana is 25 pounds lighter
the dana consumes less power due to hypoid offset.
ring gear diameter: dana s60 9.75 vs 9.00 for ford 9
pinion shaft diameter: dana s60 1.625 vs 1.313 for ford 9
Posi options are the Strange S-Trac, Eaton Trutrac and a Detroit Locker

I covered some of that in the other thread but either way you go if you order from us you will get our big 31 spline Outlaw axles and a Lifetime warranty.

Thanks
