Should I feel bad for test driving?
I would like to try out the new Mustang or a Camaro SS, but I feel guilty about doing so with not much drive to actually purchase it. I'm content with the 1ls for now until the new one comes out.

nah dont feel bad. I test drive vehicles all the time for comparisons without intentions of buying. Plus you never know when you'll finally test drive one and fall in love with it.

It just seems wrong to me, to drive something that's not mine, even though it is just a test. When I test drove the Camaro before I bought it, I was pretty gentle with it, didn't race it or anything crazy.

Like you I don't like test driving without sincere interest. Those early miles aren't free. I definitely don't beat on the car, it's not mine.

Feel Bad????????????
Why? You have no loyalty to Chevy, They don't have loyalty to you and besides your the consumer. The brand loyalty days are over, its not the old days. If someone makes a car you love then buy it, no matter what the brand.

I feel bad about wasting the dealers time if im not really interested in buying. Like he/she could be missing out on an actual sale.

But I like to test drive a variety of cars before buying. I was sold on a GMC 1500 before buying my Ram. Wanted the 6.2 with towing package and got sold a bunch of BS about how no one wants them etc. So i drove the 5.3 and said thanks. Walked across the street and test drove a Ram for the hell of it. Ended up buying it. For cars like this - there are so many options that you should drive as many as you need to nail down what you want. |

We all bash dealers but these guys do rely on sales so I don't drive just to drive. But I see no problem if you are going to buy soon and need to know what a car is like. These things aren't cheap so make sure of what you're getting. As long as you aren't joy riding don't feel bad. |

If your intent is to but one or the other then you should test drive both. But test driving for no reason doesn't make much sense. Sounds like truth be told your 1LS doesn't satisfy you completely otherwise you wouldn't be tempted to test drive a V8. I wouldn't want some random test driving and beating the hell out of a car I was going to buy to get their jollys with no intent to buy the car. One dealer I know will not let people test drive Camaro's by themselves and younger people are not allowed to test drive at all because of beating on a car for fun with no intent to buy it.
