To see if a detector or jammer is illegal where you live go here. It covers US, Canada and many other countries as well.

I can speak for Virginia. They are definitely illegal. From my 10 year tenure up there I'll probably never own another one again. Not like I speed excessively anyway, I rarely go more than 9+ on the Interstate...but my wife on the other hand....

I have the Passport 9500i and like it. If you are lasered all the passport will do is tell you how fast you are going and it is time for a ticket....pull over. The laser beam is so small you won't have stray signals that can be picked up by a detector most of the time.

In some States it is illegal to run detectors, the STI Belltronics sends no signal back to the Hwy Patrol that tell them you have a detector.

buncha hotrodders!

Coax someone else to drive too fast then follow them and watch for brake lights A Va. cop will make you put it under your tire and drive over it so make sure it's sturdy lol

What he means is that the radar detector is not able to be seen by the cop when scanned for. In the few places they are illegal some still run them. So the manufacturers try and use different ways to keep the police from being able to detect them. Not that the device doesnt work.
