What do you mean by SIR disabling? The air bag? no need for this mod.

As long as you are careful when removing the A pillar finisher, you will be fine. Just don't jostle the air bag around. I have done some Nissans, where removing that pillar finisher sets off an airbag service light. But that did NOT happen on this car, thankfully.

Just did install Looks good. Couple diffs from jimmys diy then from my install. Didnt take pics but ill list them out. I bought my car on april 2011 so that might explain differences.

1. I had to modify stock connector from mirror to fit ofer's hatness, they changed a groove on it so had to cut a bit of sides off. ( ill post pics later of stock adapter on mirror to show the slight change)

2. Retainer clip on mine did not look like anything in the pic it was totally different. It was a metal piece that was a bitch to remove, ended up breaking the damn thing to remove it. Luckily local dealer had in stock. But also they mentioned they changed the clip on newer models heres the part #11611258 so the clip i put in was also different from the one that came out.

3. Did not have to drill a hole in my bumper above license plate they had a popout. It was already ready for future camera. It was a plastic piece that was removable. Im sure when the 2012 come out theyll have a camera that you can just pop in there.

Other than that everything was the same. Thanks Ofer for the great product and thanks jimmyh for the awesome diy.

^what is the production date on your car? They must already be starting to use parts designed for the 2012.

I think it was me, looks like some of the connecter have 2 extra groves in them all you do is use a X-ACTO blade and it comes out then the connecter will fit. this is only for the gray connectors.

2SSRS helped me to do this Mod, along with a couple of other Mods last Saturday at his place.

All who have seen thisMod here where I live are asking about. I myself think this is nearly as Great as the HUD Mod.

Yeah, mine was like that too, just cut the tabs off, and it fit fine.

Does the power button on the mirror turn the Camera on in lieu of just when in reverse?

Power button just disables the lcd. For the back up camera to work, you need the power button enabled on the mirror, the car running and in reverse.

Didn't someone come up with something that can turn on the camera and lcd on command? A switch to supply +12V? Would this work?
