RPO_Z28 is totally right here. Give the dealer the benefit of the doubt until you know. It could be a dealer trade, or swap. Like RPO_Z28 said, give the VIN and we can know for sure. If not, then its speculation.

As I suspected. Good to know for sure before destroying someone though

3 of the 4 local dealers here in Springfield, Mo have given me the same line. I did not believe them, but when speaking with my trusted dealer in Republic, he said that they all had to do that to get a car in. That was an option for them but the will not sell over MRSP, so they declined. They are very frustrated that they have not received a Camaro yet.

I had talked to Relibable Chevy in Springfield last fall (Early Nov) and I was quoted:
5K over MSRP on the V6
10K over MSRP on the V8
I told them I was not going to pay over MSRP, they told me I would not buy one from them. How correct they were...........

I guess it won't be much of a surprise to you that they are exactly the same dealer involved here?

I would recommend you go see Pinegar in Republic when they get one in. They have always been good to me. The only problem is that 10 of their 12 camaros are sold all ready. I would place an order with them, but I am not sure of the V6 or V8 yet. I gotta drive before I buy.

Ha guys i don't want to start WW III, But before you go to that extreme do you not want to Call the dealer to get the info from them.
I ordered a camaro from WES MILBY at Relibable Chevy in Springfield Mo at MSRP, On 10/14/08 and i was and still am the #2 car from the dealer Allotment.

Wes was good to work with he go me the paper work fast and did not play games at the time of ordering the car.

As for you popeye this is your post on 12-30-2008 you wanted a car for Invoice, In December? No one was doing that and not to many are doing it now

2SSRS, I have had bad past experiences with them, but that can always change. Good luck with your car. What did you order? I might have to check it out when it gets in. If I pay them a visit again, I will ask for Wes.

I have worked for Reliable Chevrolet for right at 16 years now, in a number of different positions. I have absolutely no reason to lie to a customer. I will special order any car right now at MSRP. That includes the 2010 Corvette ZR1, which is still being sold $30k over list from other dealers. Obviously "Sloppy Joe" wasn't aware that he had that option.
We've had a couple V6 cars that we've purchased from other dealers because they've received the wonderful letter from GM saying good buy. And I've had to pay over sticker for those cars. That being said, I've put a price adjustment sticker in the window to cover me. If I don't put that sticker in the window, any Joe (sloppy or not) can come through my door and be able to buy the car for what it's listed at and I lose $1000 or more depending on the car.
What it all comes down to is that dealers have to be profitable. So what if I have a sticker on a car that is more than the MSRP. You, the customer, has a job as a consumer to buy the car as cheap as you can. Me, the dealer, has a job to sell the car for as much as I can. Let's see who's better at their respective job.

Oh, and for those of you that care, that Red Jewel 2SS that we've been discussing, gets delivered in the morning at MSRP. All he did was come in my dealership, act like a gentleman and purchased one of the first SS Camaro's in a 3 State area.

If anybody needs to ever contact me, I can be reached at 866-782-4389 ext 427

Thanks,

Wes Milby
