New member from Kentucky.

After one year of ownership I traded my wonderful Cosmos Purple GTO in on a 2010 Rally Yellow Camaro. It is a 2SS/RS LS3 car with only 3600 miles on it when i drove it off the lot.

Yellow was never one of my first choices, but i couldn't pass this car up, and it is growing on my quickly. Definitely has quite a few things going for it over the old goat. Wheel hop isnt nearly as bad, and definitely a tick quicker stock for stock. Also parts availability is amazing, Im used to only one or two vendors as opposed to a whole industry building parts for my car. I look forward to being able to make a few changes and make this car my own.

Congrats on the new ride. Looks like you bought it at Bob Hook. Be sure to get connected with the Derby City Camaro Club. Great group.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

What year was your GTO?
The 04 had 350 HP stock (at the crank not wheels), while the 05 & 06 had 400.
The Camaro SS is rated at 426 at the crank, with no mods, so either way this would be a nice little jump for you.

Unfortunatley, since the GTO was only reintroduced for 3 years, and then Pontiac closed, there are very few vendors and mods for that platform.

You will find just about any answer about that car on this site.
The vendors on here are awesome, and really know their stuff.
Apex Chase (post #2) is one of them, he can answer any question, and has some of the fastest shipping on anything you order from his company.
Ted at Jannetty Racing is also very knowledgable and a great guy.

So what mods are you thinking?

The GTO was an 04, the only year they offered Cosmos Purple, took me forever to find that color. Parts and availability for the GTO was terrible. Engine internals werent bad, being a LS1, but anything cosmetic, or specific to the model, was hard to find and expensive.

This year will just be cosmetic, lowering springs, wheels, splitter, etc. Next year i will start working on making some more power. Not completely sure what direction I want to go with that yet though. Warranty is almost up, so Im not concerned with voiding it when the time comes.

And while I am reminiscing on the GTO, here is what she looked like in her prime:
