Can SCT do this?

I'm wondering, since the SCT tuner can disable AFM and also has the ability to tune the transmission, is it able to have AFM disabled only in "S" mode but leave it on in "D" mode?

I normally wouldnt want AFM on at all but for longer trips it might be nice to get that few extra MPGs.

I ask Ted this same question about leaving afm working for (D) gear number six only and he said out of about 700 tunes only one customer had done something like this and he said he could see no reason to leave gear 6 on afm for a performance car. I trust Ted's opinion.

Not without a Custom Tune.

Note AFM Only Works on long trips on FLAT Ground and Moderate speeds40-65 mph, the Mileage difference is Negligible.

Over that or if you live in a hilly area forget it.

Ted.

SO, on my day to day driving it would not be worth it to mess with??? I live were everything is flat. I also drive 120 miles a day 4 days a week. Its costing me right at 130.00 a week for gas or something close to that.. Guess it's time for a honda just to drive to work I wish I could just knock the weekly bill down to 90 bucks. 35 miles of my trip I drive 60 MPH. the rest I do 70, just trying to save.... Owww well I bought a hot rod.... I would rather be buying parts though......

The 70 MPH is hurting your mileage.

Shoot me an Email and I will see If we can do something to improve your Mileage.

I have he JRE tune and LT headers and just drove 400 miles to Charlotte. I got 22.6 mpg. I was driving 75 on average. Previous trips I made before these mods and with AFM I was getting 21.x mpg. Plus the sound is incredible going down the interstate. So many cars gave my camaro 2nd looks probably due to the sound.
