A/C cool AFTER HVAC recall service?

One of the first service recalls/bulletins on the Camaro was the HVAC 'reprogram', wire harness fix and spoiler tightening.

Has anyone had the HVAC reprogramming done and found that it had a negative effect on their A/C performance? Is it not as cold now? I'm wondering if I should bring my car in for this or not?

Mine too, but apparently with a long drive it may freeze up without the update?! I think he wants to make sure that it doesn't compromise the A/C with the update. That I don't know

Yep, I noticed this as well and brought it up with the dealer. I do feel my AC's compressor wasn't working as it should, but the dealer said it would have to fail before they'd replace it..

I just had the HVAC update done. A/C is now LESS cold, it was better before the update.
This is what I did notice and maybe it will help you guys............

I'm in South FL where its like the surface of the sun. A/C is always on MAX. Seems that since the HVAC update, when you restart the car it "forgets" that you are on the MAX setting. You have to take it of MAX and put it back to MAX again and its fine. Sucks you have to redo it everytime you start the car.

I hope someone at GM reads this.

I suggest taking it to a different dealer.

The update does lower the A/C coldness. They had issues with it freezing up and blowing compressors. So now it does not cool as cold as it used to.

Well I had the opposite problem. My AC would not stay cold. I could put my hand on the vent and feel the air go from cold to warm and then back again. They did the update, and now it blows cold. I do know that with 100 degree temps I have not had to go past level 2 on the gauge.

Nice to know that I need to reset the max cool on the AC unit.

Yes, every since I got the update my AC sucks! I can have it on MAX AC and I'm still sweating! Thank goodness I don't really need it anymore since the seasons are changing, but I REALLY needed that AC this summer and it has been shitty ever since the update....I'm pretty pissed
