Seatback latch won't release.

Passenger seat won't release, drivers side does. Anyone else have this problem?

You have to take the pressure off the seatback before you try to grab the handle. Try pulling or pushing the the headrest as you grab the lever, to see which one works.

Thanks, I'll try these tips. I really don't want some greasemonkey tearing my new leather seats apart.

I am having this same issue. I took mine in and I waited for 30 minutes for the guy to come jiggle my seat. I thought it was jammed and went on my merry little way.

It continues to happen and the only way for me to get it to release is to rattle my seat. I have to pound the seat to get it to work. I am sure onlookers are wondering what the heck I am doing. If I take it back will they fix it or just rattle my seat around some more (Which is what the dealership made it sound like). Thank you!!

Jessica, if it is a possibility for you I would suggest taking your vehicle to another dealership to see if you can get a second opinion on this. If this does not work please feel free to contact me.

Ditto - both seats are tough to release

I have the same issue on the passenger side. There has been times I thought I was going to break the latch handle off because I had to pull it so hard. The easiest way to get the seat back last to work for me is to slide the seat all the way forward and try it.

I have this problem on the passenger seat mainly. If I apply pressure to the seat back while lifting the handle it will work, but it's a two handed job for sure.

Same her for me. Passenger side works properly, but the Drivers side is aggravating to say the least.

No tab, just a bad design. In struggle with it every time. My kids? Fugetabouddit. They can never unlatch it. I e d up having to twist around fm the driver's seat to get the damn thing to release. Kindda hard to push the headrest up or back when ur in the car.

Glad I'm not the only one... I was starting to think it was another "me only" thing!

For me the passenger side is great, and the driver side is a MAJOR battle every time.
(printed that TSB - I'll add it to my dealer-do list!)

I had the same issue on the driver side. I pulled the latch to push the seat forward and it wouldn't go back in to place. I was trying for at least 15 minutes to push it back. I finally used the power seat adjusters and i was able to set it back to where it needed to be.

Thanks. Appreciate it.

It's surely got to be better than my last few go arounds with my leaky window seals. But that's fuel for a different thread.
