Angry Car wont start-

Just went out to start my car and nothing. Starter doesn't even try to turn the engine over. All i get is a clicking sound under my drivers side dash. No security light or anything.

Tested the battery and its good, tried the spare key to no avail, and even disconnected the battery for 10 min and reconnected and still not getting anything.

Last week or so ive been having problems starting where it would click a few times before she would start. After a few clicks she would turn over no problem.... looks like im getting her towed back to the dealership again.

Anyone else run into similar issues?

Do you have an early 2010? They had problems with starter wire rubbing through and also the control wire connection down at the start can come loose.

If that is the problem there was a recall issued for it a long time ago that you should of received.

if your VIN is higher then 5000, You have a bad battery that's all, Try jumping it to get it to the dealer.

well bad news...

so its at the dealership and they were able to get her started. Bad news, i have no oil pressure and lot of noise from the lifters. So they gave up on trying to fix the starter to focus on the oil pressure problem, which they've yet to figure out what's causing. I had the oil bypass valve problem fixed a few weeks earlier and apparently it has nothing to do with it.

GM Technician: " its a good thing you haven't done touched the computer and tuned the car with all the modifications you've done... else your warranty would be void ... and its looking like we may need to replace the engine..."

Me: " yeahhhh.... uhmmm that is good." (fingers crossed they somehow haven't noticed the vector motorsports tune...)

Im assuming they already scanned the computer and for some reason it didn't show... even though i never restored it to the factory tune.... fingers crossed.

before they can replace the engine,, they will be asked by gm to connect to your car with their laptop and gm gds software,, the dealer will need to get the cal verification numbers from your ecm, gm then matches their cal numbers on file with the ones they get from your ecm, and if you have a tune they will not match and that is as far as gm will go. warranty void!

this is the standard procedure with "the new gm", and the cal verification numbers are needed for any engine / trans, driveline issues

well - it took nearly 3 weeks but finally got the car back-
Really impressed with GM and their warranty dept. as well as the dealership-

Even with my modifications and the tune they still honored the warranty.

Turned out the oil pump itself was the cause of the oil pressure problems and after replacing the bypass valve and the pump- they went through and tore down the engine and replaced anything with any signs of wear on it.

Anyway- long story short- car is back- running great - and despite the modifications, they covered everything including a rental for the 3 weeks under warranty. ha... now ive got 3 weeks of car parts ive been buying stockpiled in the garage to put on this weekend

not sure - must have been related to the low oil pressure- Dealership couldn't figure it out either and soon as they got her back up and running she was starting no problem. Been about 6 months and havent had any trouble since.
