throw in a cap and some heavy duty wiring and arrange it so you get the best out of the subs, make sure you do a high bypass and upgrade your regular speakers while ur at it.

Adding the 12's gives you an advantage in the lower frequencies that 10's tend not to produce well. However, it really depends on the size of the trunk. if you just add more subs you could just be intriducing more noise. Air space is the key for subs!

If you add them do this: Throw everything below 100 hz to the 12's, 100 - 250 hz to the 10's, and everything else to your interior speakers. That will decrease the unwanted frequencies in the subs allowing them to produce the lower sounds more efficiently.

Ryder, looks like you've got some good advice right there. I have a single JL 10 and single JL12 running off of the same JL amp. I have this set up for the exact reason above...10's hit higher and the 12 hits lower. No matter what kind of music I'm listening to, I get pure, clean bass. JL, IMO, is the best to go with and puts out a hell of a lot of bass...SO, if you want to rattle the headlights out of your car and skip your cd's while you're driving, go w/ 4 subs. Otherwise, buy one more JL 12 and you'll notice a huge difference.
