More Progress on Suspension

Here are more pictures on the "very stiff" suspension...

Again, this is a Hotchkiss suspension including coils, springs, a-arms, roll bars, front handle bar, rear tower bar. This lowers the car 2 inches.

Shocks are Bilstein.

Also the power steering is the Steeroids.

Console and Air Conditioning

I can say I did something! Yay!

I put together the center console with the Autometer guages. Wired them up. They are ready to go!

The boys started to put in the Vintage Air air conditioning. They were not impressed with the instructions. They also had to make a few modifications to get things to fit properly.

But, it's coming along nicely as you can see...

Very Sexy Curt!!!

I like it.

That Moser is hot.

Anybody notice the Vintage Rockford Fosgate Punch 30 in the rear?? I don't know if anybody but Bryan would know, but those "classic" amps are fetchin quite the $$ on eBay.

I used to be into collecting the old RF gear, but it's getting outta control!!

Awesome to see it in service Curt!!

Keep the greatness coming!

Wow Curt, it's really coming along nicely. I'm sad I didn't get a chance to come by and visit her this week. When I was at Sema, I saw a color very close to yours. I think yours is still a bit brighter, and definitely has more metallic. Here's a picture.

A Quick Update

I saw that my new engine went into Paint.

Not much else has happened. Car Crafters has been so busy that the special projects have been set aside for the time being.

I'm waiting for them to replace the roof and do the body work.

What do you guys recommend for fuel injection? I've been eyeing this:

Fuel Injection is definatly the way to go homeboy. I sent some pics to Diana for what I thought would look really cool on a hot rod. Please dont ask me for pics it took me days to figure out how to get them to her, maybe she still has em. The system makes big power and the fuel mileage and reliability is the shiznitz lol. Looks killer too, BIG TIME!!! I gotta get over to CC to see your whip in person again, its turning out awesome.

fuel injection

hi curt
this is your bro Troy! I'm know on this forum. about the fuel injection.... do you have 2 have a in-tank fuel pump and a tank w/ a sump? do you need a return line back to the tank? if so how big does it have to be? fuel injection should build great power and be super efficient especially since you have the computer know how to tweek the programming. Got word from my engine builder should have about 450hp from my 383....cool huh. did they ever open up your new motor and find out what's in there? have fun! later T

More Progress

Here are some more pictures.

The gas tank is in and, yes, it has two lines (one is a return line). Here's the info on it: Camaro Gas Tank Sending Unit, 3/8", With 1/4" Return Line, 1969. I was thinking I would go fuel injection.

The engine is ready for paint. It'll be red.

Bryan is readying the car for the donor roof skin. The rust is getting cleaned up as we speak.

After the roof is put back together, other body work will commence.

Hi Troy!

Welcome aboard!

Glad you found us. My new 383 is supposed to do around 500 HP. We'll dyno the car when it's finished. They opened it up and checked everything out. All is well. I didn't get a read as to what's all there. I'll pulse the mechanic on it later.

The gas sender I got does have a return line. It's a 1/4 inch. Not sure if that's enough. I would think it would be. That was the only choice I had from Rick's Camaro.

Everyone here says hi.

See ya.

Looking good Curt! It makes me happy to see more progress. Looks like it's almost time for another visit.

camaro

500hp super cool aluminum heads? you could probably ask summit racing about what the minimum requirements for the fuel injection. they are pretty up on that on their tech line. the car looks pretty shaggy w/o a roof. good thing you are a hoarder like dad and u held onto that roof for 20 years. hope you have a good turkey day . Painted Engine and Roof Replacement Progress

Here are some pictures of the engine and roof project.

Notice the rust on the donor roof. They had to do quite a bit of clean up.

Plus, we found out today that the donor roof isn't the same as mine. It's from a '69, but it must have been left over from the '68 (donor must have been an earlier VIN '69) as the header portion of the roof is quite different. We had to modify the center spar a bit to get it to fit properly on my car.

hey curt what kind of intake is that? looks like it will be a high revving motor with that intake? what gear ratio is in the rear? probably won't have much torque off the line so a 3.50:1 or numerically higher with the tremec low 1st gear might work well. looking good! i'm jealous..... see ya troy
