Reverse lights went out?!

just noticed my back up lights went out.. had to be within the last day or so..

they will not turn on while in reverse or when unlocking the car as they should

the car is a m-6

do the lights have thier own fuse?

any ideas?

I had an issue with this previously with a different vehicle (not the camaro) so it may not apply...but a simple fuse replacement fixed the problem if it was both lenses.

check fuse box. look for brake lite, tail lights..something along those lines...pull one at a time look for element to be sort of black/brn in color and cut in center..good luck should be easy fix..

I am no expert on this, but it occurred to me that there are more fuses in the dash on the driver's side. Have you looked at the diagram for that? There is also a fuse box in the trunk.

I noticed fuse for "rear power windows" in the above diagram. I guess that was left off of my car!

Did you check the Rear Compartment Fuse Block on the right in the trunk? See page 9-46 on the owners manual for location.

i had leds in my licence plate bulbs, they changed them... they said because i put AAC LED bulbs in it could fry the whole system???

Time to find a different dealer. I put AAC bulbs in my license plate lights and my back up lights work fine!

On the otherhand, just a thought,... AAC knows EVERYTHING about the electrical systems in these cars. You might ask them which fuse it is.

next time, instead of pulling fuses just to see if they are blown or not, get one of those fuse tester thingies that you just touch the ends to the fuse and if the light comes on, fuse it good, if not, fuse is bad. It is cheap and sometimes come with the assorted fuses package you buy. Got mine Pep Boys, $5 for 30 assorted fuses with the tester/fuse puller combo thingy.

I don't understand how the dealer is an idiot on this. You added something that is different from factory however small it is, it is still NOT factory. This is the problem that a lot don't understand. You change something, then something related to what you did (true in this case) goes wrong, dealer doesn't want to deal with it on their own dime, how again is the dealer an idiot? I bet if you tell the dealer you will pay them to fix it, they'd gladly fix it for you. But to expect a dealer to warranty something that was affected by your modification is too much. Sorry but I agree with the dealer on this one and I don't like dealers!
