i need some info on bbk long tubes

does anyone have the bbk long tubes installed on their v6 and have any dynos with the gains and if the CEL turned on. i was thinking about getting these but i wanted to get as much info as i can on them. i know bbk has an install of them on youtube but i am weary of the 30+ horsepower they said it gave them.

You can look at mine and take a ride if you want. Lol. No dyno though. Will be getting one September 11th, is the plan.

Oh, and yes, you will get a cel. I'm currently trying to work on eliminating it without a tune.

I got the headers shortly after I bought the car. I can't honestly say if the butt dyno felt better. I babied it for the break in period. Like I said, you can ride in mine and see if you can tell the difference between mine and your.

Your not going to get 30 + peak HP with any Long Tube header. The 30 HP gain they claimed is at mid rpm and is not peak HP. You will probably see around 20 HP from Long Tube Headers. I haven't got a dyno with my BBk headers yet, but I ran a DA corrected time of 13.99 @ 101 MPH in the quarter mile. As far a butt dyno I definitely could feel a difference in power.

^ I'm happy with mine. It's the best mod I've done to my car for gaining more power.

With any long tube you will gain an avg of 15-20hp and couple more with no cats. I guess you can expect bigger gain if you want peak numbers.

15-20hp is conservative.

Your info says it's a v8 but you're talking like you have a v6. Do you have both? This weekend I ran a 13.96 which corrected to a 13.69(1700+ da) with my manual LS at the local track.

I remember him. He tried the non-foulers to get rid of the cel.

And dynos are all different. It's great for a tuning tool, but the variations in outcomes tells me they don't mean much toward official numbers. I don't sweat those numbers as much as what the car's actually doing at the track(my preference). I've seen videos of cars that were dyno'ing 400+rwhp that couldn't get out of their own way on the strip.

I have ARH long tubes with no CEL but I also have the tune form Trifecta.

Warning: if yuo need your state inspection soon don't install the headers until after you pass the inspection. The tune will prevent the CEL but will not turn off the monitors which can be seen by the inspection site (or a handheld scanner). The CAT and EVA monitors are still "Not Ready" on my car but by August (inspection time) they should be in "Ready Mode".
