hood pins

does anyone have a rough idea of how long it takes to install hood pins??? also , how much of a pain is it to do so???

remove your acc belt, pull the alt loose, might have to mess with the AIR stuff that is mounted to the stock exhaust manifolds out of the way.

then unbolt the 4 bolts that hold each of the valve covers on, get some new gaskets for them and run a bead of superglue on the inside of the valve cover to keep the gasket in place, let that dry, then install the new valve covers, replace alternator, and put your belt back on.

just my opinion - if you're gonna still use the factory hood latch, there's not really any reason to install pins. that was why i busted out laughing at a new shelby mustang i saw at the dealer a couple years ago.

no...no (shakes head)......im planning on replacing the hood completely and possibly installing hood pins DEPENDING on the headache involved with doing so....im still using a cowl hood though

Hoods fly off of drag cars ALOT....if they end up in the crowd...you could kill someone...

That's why I would do them...
