Tap shift problems

Doe's anyone here have a serious lag time from when you press the up down button. Mine seems to shift better in sport mode than tap. I mean tap shifts really sucks.

Here's the thing people don't really think about: These trannies have different tuning tables - one for partial throttle and one for WOT. Partial throttle it seems to lag, sort of like granny shifting a stick. WOT, there's no lag whatsoever, at least for me.

I'm not sure if it's different in the V6 because of the extra inertia and whatnot of the V8, but a tune always helps

Mine lags also. Whether at partial or wide open, it makes no difference. I find myself trying to time it to "tapshift" about 1 sec before I really want to shift. I had my wifes nephew (he races alot and was track champion in his division) run it at the track one night and he had faster times when he didnt tap shift. I would like to know if all the V6 folkshave this issue?

I will go back and check mine but it seems pretty much instant at most throttles. At light engine load i do notice the torque management.

I love my tapshift. If I'm looking for the fastest time like at the dragstrip then I'll let the manual mode shift itself. The computer is faster than the tapshift. BUT, if I'm on the expressway I always use the tapshift. This way I can move in and of traffic at will without the aggrevation of the downshifting of the auto transmission. There is a little lag only when I'm downshifting from a higher gear to a lower but no hesitation shifting up. I like being able to select my own gear to keep my rpms where I want them. Keep in mind that your tapshift will never be just like a clutch and manual. PM me if you have any question.
