Z28 PRICE!? check this out!!!

soo I went on to edmunds car payment site as linked below to get a ball park price to see if i can afford it. I was going to put in 55g but figured ill check the options for the 2012 cars... well there it is.. edmunds has the 2012 camaro z28 6.2 s/c for $50,850

could this be the price if so im saving up another 10g this year and picking it up!!!

http://www.edmunds.com/apps/calc/Cal...ktid=ga9911315

when it ask you to choose a car go to... 2012, then chevy, then camaro, then trim z28 and see what im talking about.

Even at the high 50 price range I think sales will be very brisk.

Yea if i was to buy it i would be selling my car i have now wich is payed off then saving up about another 10gs and throwing about 30g for the down payment. so that puts it right at the same payment price that i would be at if i put 20 down on the 11 ss2/rs

I'm sure they have a lot of things that aren't accurate. . .

how do they have a price on a car that doesn't exist yet? officially. . .

they have a well educated guess of GT500 ballpark price. since that's the car they are aiming for.

now 55k plus - I've heard that to. also heard 45+, 60+, etc etc etc. but until it's official you can hear a lot of things. doesn't make it right. an educated guess is in line with that gt500 price. maybe a slight premium over it like the SS is over the GT. but we will see as this car isn't official, YET.

That's the funny part.

I was in Arkansas picking up a used 2010 GT500 and I was perusing the dealer showroom while I was waiting for the sales guy to come down (internet sales manager). I saw an '11 GT500 w/ SVT PP/Nav for $61. On the sticker there was a blatant $5k "Market Adjustment".

Now, here is the kicker. The previous DAY I was at a Ford dealer here in Houston and I was offered a '11 GT500 w/ SVT PP/Nav for $52k, $3k UNDER MSRP. Absolutely hilarious.

I would NEVER pay a mark up on a car. MSRP is the absolute most I would pay and I don't like paying that.

Anyways, the Z should be sweet. I hope they get it buttoned down tight and it meets the GT500 on the track. If it comes in short it better be cheaper. I want to see a Z that pushes Ford. Ford is really putting the pedal to the metal on the Mustang but if GM doesn't answer I fear they will rest on their laurels and not push the envelope as much.

New Challenger is making noise... will be nice to see how that one plays out too. To each their own but we need them all because we need competition.

Don't forget about the gas guzzler tax on top the selling price.

Here are the rates. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f6197.pdf

The tax will probably be close to the

STS at 19.6 CMPG, or the Corvette at 20.4 CMPG For both the tax is $ 1,700. Got to keep the gov't in business somehow.

That's funny. the dealer here in smithfield nc is charging 5-10 over on an added sticker and says AMV on it. lmao I laugh at that everytime I see it. they have more camaros then they know what to do with. and not even 15 miles away another chevy dealer that sales at msrp has 4 camaros and these are new every few weeks. so they sale a lot of them. lol. got to love those dealers that think everything is made of gold.

For that price it had better out-perform the gt500 which is about ~ $48,645. now.

Oh no, $500 or so. It applies to every car... not really a big deal

Yup. They have a choice to compete on price (value) or performance. I don't know which they will hit but I hope it is performance.

Yeah, even at MSRP, most cars like Camaros, Mustangs, Challengers, have a healthy profit on them. There is no need to go abuse it unless it is something like a GT500 KR where 100 are made (or whatever the real number was). That is a car which shouldn't have been driven but SS's and GT500's are easily DD's.

Sales may be brisk at first but then I bet it will drop off rapidly. Thats just alot of money for a camaro or mustang, I dont see many gt500's driving around.

I would be money every GT500 produced since MY '07 sold w/o having to be pushed to auction. The same will be true of the Z.

It is official. We all know they are making a 2012 Camaro Z-28, why do people keep saying, "how do people know things when its not official". It is, accept it for what it is and start saving. Keep believing it isn't coming out if you want to, lol.

I was looking at examples ( HPE 550 and HPE 475) and trying to compare them to the now GT500, which upgraded package are closer to the GT500.

Mustang and/or Camaro owners/enthusiast input welcome.

I think the Z28 should be GM's upgrade to the now SS Like the GT 500 to the GT.

Flame me if you wish, that's how I learn......
