QUESTION TO ALL YOU CAMARO5 OWNERS !!!

ok so my question is WHY did you choose the color for your car ? was it availabily ? liking in color ? price ? what was it ? reason I ask is because I chose black because when cleaned its gorgeous to look at because its almost mirror like, but the upkeep is a pain in the ass, so im seriously and most likely considering trading in my black camaro for an inferno orange....... please share your thoughts

I have no idea why I went with red
I honestly am not a big fan of red (least fav color - I don't hate it but...there are shades of it that are horrible)....

I originally wanted yellow - but for some insane reason read & white popped into my head and when I saw RJT I knew that was my color (ended up with silver rally's, but I love them).

Found out after I made the choice that my mom had a red/white '69. Maybe it was fate (or her old car was reinCARnated into my baby )

I have a ABM, and I first saw it in person at disney world at epcot in may 2009 at the world showcase and it was awesome even inside with bad lighting! I had to have it, then secondly my brother who has past away had a blue 68 camaro and I wanted to get it in his memory because like him I loved that car. And apparenly it was a great choice because it is a limited color and everyone tells me it's absolutely amazing

My S-10 was white and loved it. Now I have a black Suberban and a Black silverado both 4x4 and the last thing in the world I want to do is take them offroad now. Loved the way the Black Silverado looked at the dealer, but the only time its that clean is soon as it gets outa the car wash. My White Camaro is always clean looking, I get home pull the cover off, dust it off and away I go.

I chose IOM for a few reasons.

I like Orange and Orange has always been a signature color for muscle cars. Orange is also a color (much like the Cynergy) that almost demands people to stare when you drive by.
I was originally torn between Orange and Cyber Gray. In my opinion these two colors show off all the wonderful design features of the car.
When I thaught about it I couldn't decide what color stripes to put on a CGM so i did a little photo shop work and noticed that the CGM stripes on the Orange looked amazing. Both colors are metalic and they look like they belong together.

Kinda funny...I've Never been a "Red Car Guy" in my life. This is the first red car I have ever owned. When I went looking for this car there were no SS models in my area, a dealer by Ft. Worth had 6 on the lot. I went to look and all but 2 were 1SS. Wanted 2SS and RS, they had 1 Yellow and "Reaper". Didn't want yellow, I like the color but too many out there already. The more I looked at the RJT the more I came to like it. Especially with the Silver Rallys. Now wouldn't have any other color.

This is my first muscle car. I wanted to be able to drive fast so, I'd heard that it was a good idea to go with a dark color because I've heard that they don't draw as much attention as the red, yellow, orange, ect. I was going to go order a black with silver stripes, but when I went in the dealer had an IBM with everything I needed, so rather than wait and go through that painfully exciting time, I figured, "it's still a dark color and it has everything I need, I'll take it."

IBM for me was an easy choice. Blue has always been my favorite color. My first car was a dark green when I bought it and I had it painted blue, but it didn't turn out as dark as I wanted. I knew I would rectify that situation with my camaro. On a side note, I ordered without seeing either of the blues in person, but when I finally saw an ABM in person I was impressed. It still can't top IBM in my opinion, but it definately looks sharp. It's too bad they didn't keep it.

i got IBM looks black from a lot of angles but when your close it is dark blue plus the metal flake pops all over it and it tends to hide a lot (so the upkeep isn't as bad as a black car) let me know if you want some good pics to see what i am talking about...

Wanted Yellow but nobody had any 1SS in yellow as a M6. Didnt want black which a ton of them were around. No to red jewel tint as my wife old monte was that color (another color a ton on the lots). Didnt want silver as the car I traded in was silver (yet again another color flooded on dealer lots here.

IOM was a option but to many of those on the road so the next best was Victory Red plus my 4 year liked it.

I used to have a black Impala SS, so I knew I wasnt gonna get black...

I liked IOM, but not my style... Wasnt digging IBM, or RJT. Dealer didnt have a RY...

I almost changed my mind at the last second to ABM, but the one on the lot wasnt a 2SS.

So, I figured silver is easy to keep looking good (It really is), not too flashy for all my daily driving, and there was one available (that I got a good deal on!)

I think if there had been a 2ss ABM, I probably would have grabbed it instead. OR White, which I hadnt seen in person.

I had a Victory Red ordered and got tired of the waiting at 1100 so I bought off of the lot.. Black is alot of upkeep, but imo, it is the best looking when CLEAN!!

I have owned black cars and never ever ever gonna own a black car again. Even as a garage queen.

Unfortunately, you fell for the black's awesome "showroom" look. The truth is, black cars are a pain in the a$$ to keep looking clean. A black car is awesome in the shade, night, car shows (where you see owners of black cars always wiping), and of couse, dealer show room. If you have other cars and the black car is a garage queen, yeah, it is nice to have. But for a daily driver, the time investment in cleaning it is not worth it. There are better things to enjoy in life than wasting hours and hours cleaning a car. It only looks clean after a wash/detail, until you take it for a drive. And you see every little scratches, swirls, dents, etc. I used to carry a car duster, spray detail kit, etc for the black car. ....not worth the extra hassle. This is just my opinion based on personal experience.
My Camaro is IOM and is stays pretty clean between washes.

Wanted the Silver one, was going to order it , but went to a dealership that had 2 one was black M6 the other RJT automatic. Test drove the black one and took it home. And YES the upkeep sux constantly cleaning it, and like one said in the shade the best looking car on the road. But out in the sun, NOT!!!
