Why not use this as an opportunity to get outside the box.. Check out videos by edhubb on youtube. He shows you how to do several different custom paint techniques. You could easily do a marble or wrinkle effect over what you have, then clear, sand, clear, repeat until smooth....

well I felt painting the intake would be overdoing it, I like the way the cai looks like it is. It was very simple and my first spray paint job I've ever done. I just sanded the grey part and some of the v8 logo in the middle with 300 or 400 grit sandpaper. Then I cleaned it with dishwashing soap and water. Dried it and wiped it down with rubbing alcahol on a paper towel. Then sprayed 2-3 times of adhesive promoter. Then maybe 2 light coats and 2 medium coats of orange-red duplicator engine enamel spraypaint. Then maybe 2 clear coat sprays and done. Did the black Chevrolet lettering with a sharpie.

From the comment Im reading it seems like I ruined my engine but when i look at the poll there are quite a bit of people that likes what I have done to the engine. So basicly the ones that was hating are player haters drinking Hateraid everyday in there pink hater cup in the allyHater shoes, lol. Paint is like a fat girl with cute face she can lose the weight and look hot. So with paint I can redo and i can make it look hot. To everyone else thanks for the support and help. And if you guys live close by ill do a bbq at my place.

most of what you did could be replaced with aftermarket covers and tubes, not a total loss, but it's your car do what you like,
