manifold removal

ok. here's an update with my 95..... last night i removed my intake manifold completely, took about 2 hours because of some pain in the a$$ bolt under the number 5 cylinder fuel injector..... THE main reason i am doing this is to change the manifold gasket which i thought was causing the cars problems. HOWEVER, now that i have removed the original gaskets i can find nothing wrong with them...... CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD CHECK WHILE THE MANIFOLD IS REMOVED,,,,OR WHAT COULD BE CAUSING MY PROBLEM????

I know there was a specific GM silicone for the intakes on LT1s. I have no leaks after that fix, with my dealer using that specific silicone for 60K miles - not even any sweat. It was a common enough problem for them to recommend a specific silicone so if it wasn't your intake gaskets, I bet it was the silicone on the front and rear of the valley. Hit up your dealer and get that silicone, clean all the surfaces, apply your beads, and you should be good-to-go.

did you replace the o-rings on the injectors? I never heard back from you on that.


if so, did you fire the car up to check that that wasnt the problem?

since you've got the manifold off, I imagine that you have gotten a new gasket set. which should come with black high temp RTV that you will use to run a bead on the front and back of the block where it meets the intake manifold. (i think I sent you pics where to put the sealant.)
