Yeah gas is expensive there. I put gas in my car at that gas station in the picture. That was a nice find, good pictures. I think I would have chased them down.

There is a GM Employee running around the Northeast with that hood and also a special engine in his SS. So if anyone is in the Danbury, CT area look for this car he drives it everyday to all the dealers that he has to visits.

It's not the same emblem as the pace cars. If you look the Z28's has wings on it that start in the center of the circle and the stamp itself looks white with a different colored trim. Where in the pace car the wings are closer to the bottom, it has a large 500 above it, a little oval shaped, and the stamp is blue with different colored trim.

I think they might be fuel shut-off switches. since they are proto types they might need them on the out side for safety.

i think it's that: they will receive a special/different spoiler; if they put it on now it would give it away and make the test mules more recognizable/easier to spot. being test mules, i would doubt highly if they were "complete" cars, inside or out.

The red things are for towing that GT500 around that we saw in the first pics last month...it was the only way they could keep the mustang close enough to get them both in frame at the same time...lol.

I'm not sure if I'm putting the pictures on right. However, it looks like the hood scoop on the masked one is the same as Bumblebee 2. You can see the flat front of the intake and the height and positioning appears to be the same. Thanks to the OP for having a good eye and ready camera.
