Need more info. Are you trying to shift into 2nd when skip-shift is trying to send you to 4th? Is it an actual grind or just harsh? Is the grinding occurring under hard acceleration? Power-shifting, etc.?

I'll bet you are encountering the skip shift. Go higher in your rpms and you will avoid it.

I just bought my 2011 2SS and it is not my first 6 speed manual. I have 1,400 miles on it. Under full acceleration I can't shift quickly from 1st to 2nd without getting the grind either. I don't have this problem from 2nd to 3rd or to any other gear for that matter. When I slow down my 1 to 2 shift just a little bit, it goes into second just fine. This kind of pisses me off. I installed a Hurst shifter and still the problem exists. It is a dragstrip liability. The T56 in my 94Z28 never had this problem; What's going on with the TR6060? I'm not looking for speculation... does someone have a real answer?

Skip shift is speed oriented not rpm related. But I did have a problem trying to shift too close to speed limiter and it would stick in neutral till we tuned it out of the program.

Don't release clutch to soon if speed shifting. Push seat closer to front to ensure pedal all the way to the floor, and it will take a little longer to release.

Wrap fingers around shift knob, with palm on right side and thumb over fingers, not shift knob, and pull straight back.

Fail. It's not just speed oriented.

Skip Shift activates under 21% throttle in 1st = 2500 rpm (max).

Yup, I have it to. Exactly as you state. Hard acceleration, first to second, grinds and wont go into second.

I too have had this happen to me many times. I have learned to avoid it by pressing really hard on the clutch and delaying the shift to 2nd a fraction of a second later. I think its a driver problem, we try too hard to go insanely fast into second our transmissions dont like it.

I agree. Driver error. I have encountered this myself. You have to time your clutch and shifting just right or it will grind on the 1-2 shift. Slow it down a little and all works perfect.
