Drag Radial Selection Questions

Have a 2010 2SS 6-speed with MagnaCharger,Comp cam,Kooks headers,Corsa exhaust,big injectors and a tune. Putting down 620RWHP on the dyno. Traction is non-existent on the street and I'm looking to put a set of drag radials on it. Want to keep the stock polished 20" rim if possible. Any suggestions on what size and brand of DR to use? Found the Nitto 275/40R20 but I believe it's 10.5" width is too wide to mount on the stock rear (9") rim. Open to suggestions. Thanks

I use 305's Nittos 555r with the stock 20" wheels, had them for a year and now I just purchased another set.....ran 11.21@123 mph back in June, they do okay....need to heat them up pretty good.....

Thanks for the info. Using that size tire and rim did they crown much or have any rubbing issues,even if just a little bit? BTW,great 1/4 mile times!

ummm 275/40/20 is the stock width tire? you will be fine going from a 275/40/20 pirelli to a 275/40/20 nitto.... in fact... the nitto's are probably a lil bit skinnier because nitto's tend to run skinny to their advertised width's

I run them at 18 psi. You can run them lower, but that's a place to start.

no problem... just wanted to clarify to the OP which tire you were talking about (I didn't want him to end up with nt05's lol)

nt05 = crappy

nt05R = the bomb

I have the 555r's stock 20's sticky as heck went from 12.9-13.7 with stock pirellis to consistent 12.5-12.6 with more in it.

With that much power you really should go to a 18 inch tire imo for more sidewall to absorb the shock the mn6 puts on the driveline. If not, your probably going to find the weak link in the driveline pretty fast I think. Just a suggestion, it would just worry me on 20`s.
