2010 RACE SCHEDULE

A Very Special Thank You

Fleet Week Coronado Speed Festival would like to extend a very special “thank you” to the drivers of these unique vintage cars that continue to participate at America's “Race at the Base” year after year. Without these men and women dedicated to their passion – racing – and in honoring the United States servicemen, the Coronado Speed Festival would not be what it is today. In fact, without these extraordinary individuals who travel near and far, this fine event would not exist.

------

This will be taking place on the Naval Air Station, North Island. I believe they are also doing tours on the AirCraft Carriers.. FREE for active duty and dependants, and pricing available to non-military, just check the links. This is a pretty neat event, if anyone wants to check it out. There is also another show on Coronado, on Sunday the 26th so you can do BOTH!

Anyone care to go?

I thought about getting tickets, i hear they still need to sell 8000 tickets, and they may not even show the game on TV because of it..

BUT.. this event is for the whole weekend, so you could check it out on Saturday too if you dont have plans.

Go Chargers!!

Oh, cool! Should be great day. Most of the 'Open Base' days are filled with all kinds of things to do and see, and would probably take more than a day to see and do it all anyway. Same with the MiraMar air show Oct 1-3, I think i'll be running some face painting booths or something that weekend.

I already send in my registration for the Tideland car show in Coronado on the 25th. The Charger's don't play until 1:15 that day. The car show is from 9-2 PM. Yes I have season ticket so I have to be there and suffer like I did last monday. We got to keep the faith

I'll be sure to stop by say hey. Be sure to send us some updates, since the game is blacked out. :( I'm hanging in there, not giving up on them just yet!

If you are talking about the Camaro Car show it is at Tideland Park sunday the 26th. As soon as you get off the Coronado Bay Bridge (west) take the first right. Than another right and it takes you into the park. The other festival is on the North Island Naval Air Station. Saturday and sunday. My mistake on the first post I said the 25th for the Camaro show (CRS).

Both of these are in Coronado, across the bay from downtown San Diego.

Not really, besides the races and little events associated with it, I heard that there is supposed to be a tour of the aircraft carriers and stuff, and if you or your friends havent been on one, its quite a thing to see. Fleet week in San Diego is always HUGE and always has tons of things going on involving the military. usually concerts, shows, tons of vendors, sometimes theres air shows, the races.. i remember one time years ago the spec op guys did a show demonstrating how they conduct combat drops out of helicopters and stuff.. supposed to be a real fun event. Draws like 20,000 visitors every year.

For those of you San Diego locals who watched KUSI this morning just before 8 am, if you caught the San Diego Camaro Club's interview by Dave Stall ("The Car Guy") on the 17th Annual Fall Classic Car Show (tomorrow, Sunday, September 26th, 2010 from 9 am - 2 pm), you may have seen "KITT" on my 2010 Camaro SS...someone told me "it was a hit"!

The Coronado show is FREE to the Public, there is only a fee to enter your car into the show, $20 on the day of the show (ALL goes to a Charity)...be there as early as 7 am if you wish to register your car and get into position (there is only 2 spaces next to KITT...)!
