What should I do...? after axle back.

Hi experts,

I just installed Borla S-type Axle back and I have disappointed its sound.
(It's way too quite than I expected, I bought it for $540 though which is quite cheap!)

I have searched and I found out some options to make it louder, such as resonator removal or xipe installment.

But, I dont know how they affect the sound and my car.
Can somebody share similar experiences or explain what my next step is??

Thanks you so much in advance.

X pipe will make it louder, a CAI will actually help with your sound a little as well.

Not to be rude, but what were you expecting out of just the axle back? I got mine for 599...those prices are incredible for the product you are getting and the immediate increase in sound and tone.

I have the S type axle back and absolutely love the tone. It is not the loudest setup available, but that is what the x-pipe (cat back) would have done for you. There is a reason it costs quite a bit more. As miller stated, CAI will help as well...I still think headers are the way to go for sound, but the cheapest borla LTs I can find are around 800. My goal is to complete the set with an x pipe and headers, but I just needed an immediate fix to the weak stock sound...

Thanks for all replies.

Now I'm considering to have the Edelbrock x-pipe.
Do you have any opinions for the combination of Edelbrock x-pipe and Borla s-type axeback?

Thanks a lot again!!

Should be fine...I like to stay within the brand which I purchase though. Edelbrock makes a good product, but if I am going borla at the axle back I would finish with borla..I dunno, I am weird about that stuff...just make sure you get the 2.5inch

$500 for two mufflers and a couple feet of pipe is insane.

Now I see what you means.
I was expecting too much from the axle back.

Then, what shoud I go next, if I choose one of these first?
1. x-pipe? (I thinks it's cat back) or
2. long tube? ( It's header, right?)
3. CAI

Thank you, sir!!

Headers with Competition exhaust. I have 1 7/8 inch long tube headers and strait pipe all the way out the back. No mufflers....

Hear this...

You can add 30hp and 34 ft. lb. torque with AR Headers with racing cats and X pipe included. Removes 2 factory cats and a silencer from each side. Will be much louder even with stock mufflers. Good base for any additions.
You don't gain HP from cat back mufflers. Stock mufflers loose very little up to 700 HP.
Gains advertsed from cat backs usually due to tune and usually on L99. LS3 stock motor not much gain on tune.
