Nissan 370z vs. Camaro SS vs BMW 135i

So there are some serious discussions going on about these 3 cars in one of the biggest 370Z and 135i forums. I just wanted to see what you guys think.

http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...o-vs-135i.html

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...594#post299594

BTW, i can't believe OP couldn't find a good camaro forum. Jeez, there's only one -- Camaro5.com

Also, just when you think things are dying down a bit then Insideline releases this: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...topanel..1.*#2

I know my opinions probably be biased since I drive the Z car already, but Nissan did an amazing job with the new Z. What do you guys think?

Yeah I agree the 370Z is a great car, second only to the Camaro! I put the 135i in the luxury sport car class, though it is nice (and maybe a little overpriced). I think the 135i would lose (barely) to either, and if the drivers are even the Camaro would win on the straight, and a tie (or maybe a slight Z victory) on a windy track. Just my prediction, and again they are all good cars!

I don't understand the discussion?
The Nissan is a Japanese car - no American should ever consider buying one.
The BMW is a German car - no American should ever consider buying one.
The Camaro is made by an American car manufacturer. The only valid choice of the three.

1 - camaro
2- 370z
3- 135i

my reasoning, the camaro and 370 are both N/A and look better than the 135i, just my opinion the latter part

Wow that's a big statement. I don't know if I quite agree with you.

Now i say this, while owning and driving a BMW.

the 1 series is ugly. like a squished 3.

Id go Camaro/370z as a wash. handling vs. power.

dont concider the 1 series unless looks mean nothing, and then you could save some money and buy a used STi for the same level of ugly.

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

I think the OP's point is clear now.

Some forums actually talk about the driving characteristics of the cars.

No, but I'll reserve judgment until we have some official numbers .. until then, I have to put it at the bottom I honestly hope it can handle the turns as good as my 135i can ....

you think its going to go round corners faster than the more powerfull/lighter/and more advanced (manual revMatch-downshift) 370z?

hmm.

More powerfull? I didn't think the 370z had more than the 422hp that the camaro had ... am I missing something?

Gotcha .. you quoted me talking about the camaro

Anyway ... I believe the 135i surprises a lot of folks .. it handles really well ... Power is debatable as your talking NA vs FI .. a lot more low end on the 135i and it is surely underrated as most folks are dynoing closer to 280 - 290 to the wheels which is a bit more than 300 crank .. Anyways .. i think it would be a great race ...

yea thats my bad

the 135i is definately a sleeper, and i agree it will suprise alot of people, AND ill say it might be the best COMBINATION of speed/handling in this 3 car comparison... however id give speed to Camaro, and Handling to 370.

What are the skidpad/slalom times for the 135i?

Ok the camaro better had a good dam reason for taking so ''f'' ing long and release some track data or have the car available to other performance testing companies. that said either the camaro has someting up its sleeves for killing the competition or it has its head in hole. every one else has released their '' f '' ing cars to be tested.
