HELP.....V6 Oil Pressure

I just bought my 16 year old daughter, for her birthday, a 2002 Chevy Camero, with the V6, and 77,000 miles. Drove it half way home and the oil preesure dropped to 0, started knoocking. Waited 30 minutes, restared it it was fine for 3 mins and the preesure dropped again....Anybody got good news for me or is this a major problem?

Check the level first(I know it may sound silly but sometimes the easiest is overlooked).
When you check it make sure you take a look at it and make sure it looks normal(not milky). I'm hoping you don't have a spun bearing or blown headgasket.

There's a fourth gen group on here farther down you may ask the questions of. I have a 2000 with the v6 that finally gave up the ghost at 230k miles. All I ever did was oil changes, air filters and spark plugs, so I know your engine has a lot more miles to go. I wish you the best.
