Electric Water Pump

Anyone running one, or know of a place that sells one specifically for the LS3? Is it even worth the HP gains you get? I know it's better for sitting in the staging lanes to keep coolant flowing at a higher rate. Thx

Curious myself. Seems to cost around $600 with advertised gains of about 10hp or so increase with about 11 amp electrical draw. Carcraft used one in a recent dyno article on the LS3 but I'm unsure about fitment in the Camaro engine bay with accessories. LS1 tech folks seem to like them.

Ya, that's a lot of green for the HP gain, but 10 here and 5 there starts to add up after a while!

I certainly agree with a few hp here and there, but at $600-$700, that is approaching the cost of a cam, springs and pushrods. Although, it is much easier to swap out than the camshaft.

For a street car a mechanical will have more cooling capabilities. Unless you car sees the race track more than the street electric isn't the way to go.
