Thanks TAG. It was just something I was kicking around thinking that might be an issue in some states. More than likely you're dead on! However, I do think there is something here in California about driving around with your interior lights on...(I think?) I've been driving long enough, (so I should know, and dad was a cop) but I'm really not sure. Now I'm laughing. Guess it's time for bed! Good night....

I don't know how it works, but it seems wise to have if be full power lighting until you get to 15mph, and then have it slowly dim until it is off completely at 35-40 mph.

Hopefully the 9th will clear up a lot about the Camaro.

Agreed, the IDL will hopefully answer many of our questions. But it might be too early for an answer to the Cadence situation, which may or may not involve the ABL.

Seriously as much as I would love ambient lighting there's no way I would cancel my order if it's left out. That's not even close to Important

There's no way that ambient lighting is the primary motivator for buying this car. We aren't lighting enthusiasts here. I don't think anyone saw that the Camaro had ambient lighting and then fell in love with it.

If ABL doesn't make it....I won't care. I will still get the Camaro and drive the living daylights out of it! Hopefully it will be something I can still have added on later on....that along with a HUD display....

It's a cool differentiating feature. I doubt anyone on this site who already wants a Camaro would cancel.

However, my concern is this..........is it a cool enough feature to lure someone in to the fold who isn't buying because of the Camaro history and legend. If it is done right, someone who is just out shopping for sporty coupes might go "wow!!!!! Gotta have this Camaro" when they see it.

I won't cancel, I'll just be pissed, especially if it shows up a few months after I accept delivery. If they can't get it right for the initial release, I hope they wait until the next model year for ABL, or if its going to be a couple of months late I hope they give us heads up so we can delay our orders.

Guys this is a 426 HP, awsome looking, independant rear suspended, 6 speed Camaro Amarican car. What does having a lava lamp in the interior have to do with it? I just don't get it. Don't flame me too much I am just kidding, but really think about it.

Truth be told- it has to do with getting what you pay for. I'd be pissed if I didn't get it, not because other people will, but because I paid for it and I didn't. Now if they want to take $1000 (or whatever the cost is) off the car because it doesn't have it, I'm good with that.

It won't bother me if it's left out. You won't really be able to see it during the day unless you park in the shade or look it in the garage. And during the night it's really distracting to have on while driving, to me anyway, so I will turn it off when I drive at night.

I see your point and agree, but if it is not there GM should be expected to reduce the cost on the option period. I do not see how they could not do this.

IF you are canceling due to you not getting your precious ABL then you don't deserve a Camaro. It is a extra that is all if you want ABL so bad then install it yourself I am getting a Camaro for a CAmaro not some sparkly light that you can only see at night and that is in the interior

If it is not available at launch I doubt the problem would be technical issues. The ABL is part of the instrument panel, the tooling for those was being held hostage for liquidation at Cadence Innovation last I heard, and its possible that Cadence is claiming patent rights on a part of the system. Their previous owner (Vantage Industries) was well known for getting his fingers into patents on customer items and claiming he held the patent rights to process used to manufacturer the item etc. I think he even tried to put a patent on the air we breath at one time (sarcasm....but that how bad this guy was) Its also possible that lining up another supplier for the unique parts for this feature is taking longer than expected.
Doubtful its a technical issue because the wiz kids at GM have dealt with worse, but dealing with suppliers could certainly leave GM on the hook for awhile in terms of providing a positive date of availability for ABL. Just my humble opinion of what the ABL problem could be IF there is an ABL problem.
And yes...I probably would delay ordering the car over that when combined with the HUD issue. It would either be that or just get a bare bones 1SS and spend the difference on performance upgrades.

If your getting a camaro for a camaro then why order the RS package
since it too is only for aesthetic purposes only.

Halos= sparkly lights that can only be seen at low lights.(a pretty feature).
and I dont think nobodys going to cancel for this feature(ABL,) maybee delay
or reorder when available but not cancel all together

If it's any consolation the constraint report from the EVS guys yesterday said nothing about ABL. Of course it didn't list V8 to begin with. More to come next week...

I will not cancel my order if ABL doesn't make it. However, I DEFINITELY will seek aftermarket solutions to get it if I can't get it from the factory.

I hope all the models have the wiring in place so you can put after market lights in easily.
