The hood "nose"

I'm getting the 2LT/RS. Does that model have the little slit or "nose" on the hood like the SS models? I Googled the 2LT and I see pics with the slit but I ws under the impression that only the SS model had it.

The "mail slot" as it is affectionately known is only on the SS model (1SS and 2SS). Here is the text from the ordering guide:

"SS-specific front and rear body-color fascias with unique front grille and rear diffuser, ower extension, front air scoop and brake cooling slots"

I just thought it was weird. Even on Motor Trends test-drive video of the V6, that car had the "mail slot". I guess it was just a prototype.

Well, there were some prototypes and early models running around that were not necessarily indicative of the final production model. I think the ordering guide is a good reference and if you look at most of the more recent photos, the SSs are the only ones with the slot.

EDIT: Just to confirm, the "nose" or bulge on the hood is on all models. The slot is only on the SSs.

I know the bulge is on all models. The only visual difference between the LT and SS is a larger grille and "mail slot" on the SS.

the SS fog lights are farther apart & the corners of the bumper (under the side markers) are a little different as well

I tihnk that is an LT on the yellow one because the LS isn't supposed to have fog lights. I may be wrong but I believe I'm right but as far as how far the fog lights are apart I have no idea.

Only the SS gets a slit. The SS fog lights are further apart, as shown in the above post.

yeah... it's an LT because it has fog lights. just a typo. about the spacing, on the LT they're almost directly under the headlights. on the SS, they're a little farther towards the outside.

Zebra had them right. Look at the tag above the photos, not the one below
