So it's decided!

So it has been decided! Sasha has been good to me, I love this car. But i really want to supercharge it but I don't want to void the warranty. So, she is being traded in upon the arrival of a brand new supercharged Z/28 so that I can have the power I want with a WARRANTY! Look out streets, As soon as the Z/28 is produced, this kid is takin over!

Same just paying off debts and setting aside my down payment. Figure the Z28 will be 47 to 50K. Need 10 to 15K down and it won't be bad at all.

You can't make a final decision about a car that won't be out for atleast 9 months. Lots of things change in that amount of time.

It's either going to look the same as it does now or better. And either way, it's supercharged. I'll trade in for that

Here's my question...for all of you guys who are waiting patiently/impatiently for the Z28...it's project at making what, 550hp and comparable tq at the CRANK. So it's going to be putting down just less than 500 at the wheels. What are you guys going to do when you get tired of that? Void the warranty and upgrade the pulleys and get a different tune then? Maybe not all of you, but some of you are gonna get tired of it. It's the vicious circle of wanting to mod your cars. So, why not just save the money, instead of going upside down (most likely) or not getting all the money you put into paying off the SS, and just drop the money on a S/C or TT kit and make 600+ to the wheels?

Don't mind me...I'm just wondering, that's all.

Was wondering that too...How does a 19 year old afford an SS in the first place, much less a Z28. I wish I had grown up rich.

To answer your question, I work my effing ASS off at AT&T to pay for this. I'm a technician and work 50 hours a week. So I didn't "grow up rich" thank you very much, I work hard and earn what I have. Just so happens I make PLENTY to afford this car, and soon to be a Z28. Thanks for the comments though. Just goes to show how much faith in this generation there is for younger talented people.

I could easily do that. but I want a boosted car thats going to have a warranty. I just know that something is going to break and I'll be screwed out of warranty on it.

Well, glad to hear that you work your ass off and are able to afford the car payments yourself. But you gotta think, most people are going to think a 19 year old from Cali is a rich kid, especially considering how expensive Cali is. Do you still live at home and do you pay your own insurance? Cause I know that makes a huge difference on cost of living.

And your right, there's no faith in todays generation. Give me one reason why there should be. Hell, I have no faith in my own generation.

So, you're not going to mod this car at all, when and IF it comes out the way you envision it?

Yeah I still live at home. But so what? And I do pay my own insurance. For more than one vehicle. And my own gas. And as far as the Z28 goes, Some headers, exhaust and an intake will be all you need. Thats as far as I have gone on the SS and that's as far as I plan on going with a Z28. I don't understand why you are predominately judging how people are going to modify their cars. YES I can actually have a Z28 and STOP at those modifications! What a concept. There are many many people who can buy a car and just leave it stock. It's alot more common than you obviously think.

I applaud your work ethic! And that's the same way I bought my '69 Z/28when I was 20 years old in 1969. I was working three jobs, full time at the A&P distribution center as a fork lift operator and on call at two different truck lines to load/unload trailers. Young people can afford this type of car if they really want it and are willing to work hard for it, many guys I grew up with did the same type of thing in the '60s/'70s.

Maybe it's because Ive had this car in for warranty work 3 times already. So I don't feel like going FI on this and then opening a money pit of things breaking on me that I now have to fix myself
