Thumbs up I just go

back from visit to Heather SS!! Really, Really nice car. I even got video of engine running (Just need to figure out how to post)

I'v posted pic's here. (hope it works): http://www.photoworks.com/members/sl...35&id=53515461 Play in Full Screen mode

We were greatly impressed with the car. Interior is nice and car is SOLID!and cloth seats are nice
I did notice that if you are a 6 footer you might find your head hitting the roof in the back seat, BUT I was able to adjust myself so that my head cleared. There was also enough room in the rear seat for knee space and the seating area is much better then the 4th Gen (like Night and Day). I had my brother-in-law sit in the front and adjust seat to his liking and I felt comfortable in the rear. Enterance into the rear is fairly easy! The pass side is not powered and may actually be quicker! There is a nice lever on the rear of the seat near the headrest area that lifts easily and the seat back goes forward. The driver side it the same but takes a bit longer while you wait for the power seat to move forward. Wife will still need to give her sanction, but I feel a lott better now that I have sat in the seat.
I'm going to search you tube to see if I can get teh vid posted.

We met two other guys while there and they took a vid also and are going to see if they can get it posted.

Question for ya fred. You mentioned the room in the back seat, how about it in the front seat? Im 6'8" so im not short, and if i can't fit in the camaro im not going to buy it. Im sure Heather can answer this much better since she has spent a lot of time in the car but what do you guys think, is there a lot of front seat room?

I don't think you'll have any problem with leg room. Of course all of us there were in the 6 foot even range!

I disagree, I have had both fwd and rwd vehicles for winter.. including LS1 and LT1 powered vehicles. 2 snow tires on the rear are only going to get you moving. What happens when you want to corner or stop? Sure you can get by with good all seasons, but if your gonna put snows on why not do it the proper way? Those two snows on the rear aren't going to do you any good when it comes to handling or hard braking. The purpose of snow tires is really only about 25% meant for traction from a standstill and the other 75% is for what is important when driving in the snow, and that it handling and braking.

And even good front tires do not compare with snow tires.. snow tires are meant just for that, snow. Mixing tires with less grip with ones that have mor grip could cause you to go into a skid, or have more problems with control. They don't sell them in sets of 4 just because they wanna make money, they do it because it's the safe way to do it. I have driven my vehicles with great rated all seasons, but after the snow tires are on, the vehicle is an entirely different vehicle.

Bottom line, you can GET BY with 2 winter tires but seriously if you are too cheap to spend another $200-300 for two more tires to decrease the chance of an accident in your $30k+ car, then I don't know what to say...

I hope there's another one that comes through town before my final order goes through... still deciding between the 1SS and 2SS.

Not really my first post...but changed my SN/handle from mscottfl to SSmoke

But I figured you might let me slide for lookin like the first time poster if I offered up some pics and videos!

Yep that was me in the drivers seat in Fred's video... Here's another video of the SS rumble...it was sweet. I have over 100 pics that my buddy and I took so if anyone is looking for anything in particular PM me and let me know and I'll see if I can find it.

The best part was that after awhile everyone pretty much just walked away and we were there to pick through the car and see whatever we wanted. I was impressed with the interior- not cheap and feels very solid. That was my biggest concern seeing as how I've seen the car a few times now but was never able to get in it. We looked it over inside and out and didn't find one thing we weren't pleased with. It only took like an hour to calm down after we left lol...

Here's another vid of me starting the car....

Sugar and water in your gas.... talkin the big bucks to fix your engine. no thanks. steal my wheels and key my car, but stay the hell out of my gas tank.
perfect example: when i was in highschool, all the seniors cars in the lot had tires slashed and sugar put in tanks, thanks for my locking gas cap, i just get a lovely key treatment. I spent 2k replacing my racing tires and painting, but much better than losing my big block (or facing expensive repairs).
Im just saying, this is the big 2000's, we shouldnt even be using gas anymore, but since we are, LOCK IT UP. We spent a lot of money on our car. we want it LOCKED. everywhere. my damn 02 mazda 6 locked. lets go chevy.
Didn't they put all kinds of stuff (sugar, water, ammonia, etc) in a car on Mythbusters a few years ago and it didn't hurt the car one bit?
