Smile 2010 Mustang sighting

On my way to work this morning, I'm mere blocks away from my office when I see several Mustangs parked on the side of the road next to one of my favorite downtown restaurants. I was thinking "why would they have a gathering at this time of day in this kind of weather." As I get closer, I see that they look a little different....and they have Michigan plates! Holy crap...they are test mules! I swing back around (I have to go around like 4 blocks because of all of the freaking one way streets) and I see them crossing through an intersection a few blocks down. Oh well...I tried. As I have turned the corner and am coming up to the light, I see them coming up out of my side view mirror. Left blinker on....brief look for cops....left turn out of the right lane. They are just cruising around downtown!!! Not something you EVER see in Austin, TX. If they would have been 5th Gens...I would still be following them

Here's the pics...(Sorry for the poor quality...taken with my phone)

Wow, seeing them actually on the street makes me like them even more than that current Mustang. It just looks so much more agressive and overall BETTER than the current one, I love it (still love the 'Maro more )

Haha I like how people won't even recognize that it's a 2010 until they get up close after the "redesign"

Nice find

I think the reason I dislike the rear end is that it's losing it's boxyness. you can't have a retro mustang with rounded (think candy corn turned on its side) taillights. It's morphing and doesn't with the rest of the body's shape. I like the side and front profiles, but the rear is still meh. I like the 03 rear end MUCH better.

they almost took on somewhat of a ricer look to them...as opposed to the heavy/powerful rear end they had. stick a big ol spoiler on em!... make em look even more disproportionate.
and yeah rest of the car is alright...
it seems they tried to make it look more compact.
not necessary.
but whatever...

didnt they just make it like any other Regular cars ? i mean 2008 mustang is better than this... 2008 have aggressive look that make people turn in the street

now when i see 2010 i say : did mustang lose some testosterone ?
but the wide glass roof is cool.. and the interior is good with Navigation system that Camaro Fans wont have

It looks better from a distance than the close-ups we've seen earlier. The tail end seems disproportionate to the rest of the car: small lights, round shape, and short trunk. The wheels are not very attractive, so I'm hoping those aren't going to be seen on the GT. Apparently, the rear quarter windows are even smaller than the current design, making them completely useless. The front end is attractive, but the only real improvement is that the hood is more aggressive.

In all, it is so similar to the current design that it can barely be called a refresh, but the differences that Ford chose to apply make me wonder what inspired these mistakes.

I like that blue color, but I really don't like the rear.

Does that silver one have a glass top?

this is as perfect as you'll get on any Mustang:

the Shelby GT500 is, IMO, as good as it gets on this Mustang shape... the new car might grow on me, but I just dont think it will top what's out there right now.

I agree, that's why i am so excited to see the '10 GT500. I love the '10 GT,and i really love the the new rear, the '05-09 rear was the one spot on that car(besides the pedestal spoiler) that i didn't like and the '10 fixed it.
The slimmer looking rear actually reminds me of the '99-04 rearend. I want a grabber blue GT500 with black or white stripes,or black with blue stripes. I saw a grabber blue '70 GT500 and the black stripes on the hood really looked good against that blue.

wow. they looked better from far off when they looked almost exactly like the last models (from the sides anyway). this is still a sad excuse for a 'muscle car' design

The only carry over panel is the roof. I like it (but then I would )

I love the new Mustang. The body lines in profile are actually more retro than the 05-09 version. The only thing I'd change with the new Mustang is that black-colored grille for the GT. A Mustang needs those body-colored pillars splitting the grille and headlights or else it looks too much like a Camaro. That's why the 2010 V6 front end actually appeals to me more since they kept the body-colored pillars.

+1 I have been trying to find away to put the issue of the grill pillars into perspective every since the unveiling, thank you. That couldn't have been worded any better
