A couple of questions.

What does that muffler look like on the inside? It appears to have a lot of offset between inlet/outlet.

How hot does that helmholtz tube get? Not trying to get into what the other thread did, just wondering as it appears to end very close to the rear quarter panel.

60k+, considering every Camaro comes with it in OEM form.

No idea how many have tried this , but I can assure you it works .
I tried to make the pipes adjustable however my tech misunderstood my intentions so an hour later I ended up with one @ 27" and one @ 28.5" . Both have more than 1/2" clearance to bumper , which is sufficient and both go uphill so they won't fill with condensation .
The difference is incredible .

Not a fan as you are adding more weight to a platform that needs all the reduction it can get. I had the CB cat-back on my SS and the drone wasn't bad enough to consider adding more weight IMO.

Yeah , added about 5 lbs but I offset it by inflating my tires with helium .

1600-2200 , but I'm cammed , headers , high flow cats , etc.
Stock manifolds and quad cats really quiet things down . The Cherry Bomb is awesome and really gives you muscle car thunder .
BTW , your car is sharp . Diggin' the wheels .

I just had Roger install this on my vehicle. I'm well over 650rwhp after cam, whipple SC, kooks headers, and kooks full 3 inch exhaust. The performance was awesome, but the sound was unbearable. At 1800rpm in 6th gear at 70-80mph the entire cabin would hum. You could feel it in the interior panels. To give you a reference point, with the factory stereo system up to 20, you still couldn't hear it over the drone. I added my helmholtz pipes as far forward as possible just aft of the cats. The reduction in drone is dramatic. I also added a set on in line resonators, to bring the volume down. It is a big improvement.

I realize this is all subjective and a matter of personal opinion. I do believe there are quite a number of people on this forum who are bothered by the same issue.

4xchamp I'm glad you found a solution that works for you.

Why would u spend good money on a vehicle then cut corners on your exhaust by trying to buy a $30 muffler that sounds and performs horrible..IMO

Because it's HIS car and HE wanted to.

Do what YOU want. Avoid the "herd" mentality. You don't want to become "ford" people, do you?

It does . When I raced boats we figured the weight of paint into the equation . No detail was too small .

Because I've seen those nice shiny $1200 bling exhausts do the same thing . I'm about hardcore performance , bling is for amateurs .
The Cherry Bomb is a good solid system that fit well for no money . As far as performance even the stock system works well . I'm pretty sure it's proven there is no gain from OEM to A/M pipes and the stock system also includes a drone pipe within the muffler .
I doubt any of these A/M manufacturers have the testing capabilities or the knowledge base of GM and I'm pretty sure the mufflers were $31.00 , I'll check my reciept .

Do you ever have anything good to say?

Great post. I"ll be doing this with my straight muffler delete as well.
