Need mufflers STAT!!

Just did the DT long tube install today on my Camaro and let me say that HOLY CRAP!! With muffler and resonator delete then installing the LT's was a BAD IDEA!! It is way too freaking loud and no way my neighbors are going to like this one...damn near scared my girl out of the house when I first fired her up. Anyway, I need to get my hands on a pair of mufflers ASAP!! At this point don't care if they're stock or aftermarket just need something. Not looking to spend a lot as I just did that, that's why I don't need anything else but mufflers (i.e. no piping, tips, whatever). Let me know what you guys have out there, here smack dab in the middle in Bakersfield. Thanks

Bob's wont touch it because it's catless...neither will Steve's, my guy who I usually have do my exhaust when I'm catless closed up shop about 2 weeks ago so have been hitting dead ends at every turn...

Yeah I even considered for a temporary fix just going to Kragen and picking up the generic Cherry bomb glasspacks 2.5" I/O to throw in to help out a bit. It would've helped had I still had my resonator in to "dumb" the sound down a bit.

I was thinking of doing a muffler delete on mine. Make me an offer and I'll go get it done within the next week or two.

Well may have found a pair of stock ones but can't get them till next weekend, should I go aftermarket or just stock for now? Want to utilize every bit of power from these LT's and will need to have my aftermarket ones on when I go in for the tune so is it better to just spend the extra up front and go aftermarket and be done with it?

I've heard people say almost a difference of like 20 pounds between stock and aftermarket??

yeah, stockers are heavier. But the LS3 mufflers are a straight through design. So the only thing you change in aftermaket mufflers would be weight and sound. There really shouldn't be a HP difference

Again. Mine are available.

That's what I told Winnie from Flowmaster that I haven't been anything but pleased on past vehicles so if the price is right then I'm going to jump on it. I'll keep you posted.

SA Chevy, I feel your pain brother. I just installed ARH long tubes on my baby and she's LOUD! I'm running a Corsa catback system and it's still really loud. I don't mind the loud so much, but I hate the sound around 2500-4000 RPMs. It gets a cackle that sounds more NASCAR than muscle car. Before you drop a load of cash on aftermarket, I suggest that you find a sound clip of your proposed setup on Youtube.

Good luck!

You may want to PM Ivan@southwest speed and get the price on the DT axle back. They will tone it down quite a bit.

Yeah I may have to test the waters a bit. Don't want to draw too much attention with the sound and end up getting popped by CHP and have them send me to a ref.
