Question Texas Speed vs. X-treme Horsepower exhaust kit

Right now I'm on the hunt for a full exhaust kit (from headers to tips) but am not fond of paying up to $2500 for headers/exhaust. I see that both Texas Speed (here) and X-treme Horsepower (here) sell what look like quality systems at very reasonable prices.

For anyone that owns either of these systems, what are you thoughts about it? How does the system sound? I have a M6 SS that is bone stock as of now, but plan on doing a few minor modifications.

Also TS doesn't say what its gains are. Has anyone dyno'd their car with the TS system on?

I've got nothing but good things to say about the texas speed system. It is very high quality, and fit together extremely well.

I honestly dont think it can be beat for the money. No one else offers a comparable quality system in the price range (and stainless too)

I have the TSP exhaust system. The fit, finish and sound is great.

No contest here. TSP is head and shoulders a better company than X-treme. I recall a recent thread about X-treme here that was not in their favor. I simply would not give them the time of day.

I could be wrong but I don't think X-treme actually makes a system. I would bet there is something like LG or KOOKS. Find out which one it is.

I've heard really good things about the TX Speed setup. Andy over at ADM even said they were a good setup. Personally I would have them ceramic coated but you don't have to.

Thanks for all the replies people! I really appreciate it.

Since these are both 3" systems, would I need to change anything for them to fit on my car? (I've heard there is some kind of brace underneath the car)

Yes. You will need spacers for the tunnel brace or a aftermarket unit to clear properly. The stock tunnel brace is very flimsy and would not hurt a thing just to leave it off the car. Does not serve a real purpose TBH.

Yes....you'll probably have to either use an aftermarket one (do a search on tunnel brace) or some people just use some washers under the tunnel brace to make it come down just a little.

I will say that another nice thing about the Magnaflow 3" (#16483) is that they factored in that issue and adjusted the tubing. No need for washers or tunnel brace adjustment with that cat-back.

Thumbs up

I have the TSP full exhaust kit with out cats. My 2SS 6M has a stage 2 cam and I love the sound. Its very deep on idle but when you want to make some noise it does. I also cleaned up the headers with a sand paper disc on a grinder and had them ceramic coated. Over all I would recommend this system.

We should have some graphs with a stock car and swapping to our LT headers and catback system. I will see if I can find them and post them here for you. We have had really good results from our kits. Performance is right in line with the more expensive kits on the market but with a price that can't be beat!

TS system?
Sounds great. And big seat of the pants power gain.

Tunnel brace cannot be used with the TS system.

Hangs 1.5 inches lower than the brace mounting surface. Pipes run straight after the headers. All the way to the rear hangers.

Thanks for posting the graph Jon. This system gets some great numbers. Is this with or without a tune?

Looking at the air/fuel ratio I'm going to say that is untuned. Also, it is only two runs later. I'm sure it wasn't tuned in two pulls.
