Purchase Hurst shifter from Chevrolet parts.

I am trying to keep my 2010 Camaro all GM for several reasons including warranty. I have tried to order the short throw shifter from my Chevrolet dealer, but to date they have been unable to do it. I would appriciate the answers to the following questions:
When can I order the shifter from GM?
Is the part number 92214388?
Estimated cost?
Thanks very much.

That is the correct shifter that GM is using, My camaro came from the dealer with that shifter (brand new) thats the shifter they got from GM. you can use the factory shifter with the hurst linkage or you can put the classic look shifter on.

I saw an SS at the GM Performance Parts display this aug at the Woodward dream cruise. It had a factory Hurst in it with a sign on the window saying it is a potential future accessory - timing first quarter of '11.

The one in the link above is the aftermarket version.

I think, and can be wrong at any time.

No it isn't. Yours is probably a dealer installed aftermarket one. This is what the factory Hurst looks like. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103249

Ok, I see what your saying, but all that is, is a factory shifter with the hurst linkage underneath with a little hurst decal on the side. The linkage is the same as the one that came with my car. and you could even still use your factory shifter with the Husrt linkage. So yeah mine was installed by the dealer as a Hurst Package with floor mats and badges, but it was bought through GM, just not from the factory. I like the old school style anyways, but each his own and the bottom line is anything Hurst makes is kicka$$. I just like the fact that when it becomes a classic, I can say it came from the dealer that way, it wasn't something I added.

And after all that, you only get a 25% shorter throw.

So with all the negative responses that have been pushed my way, I'm figuring that I must be wrong about it all. I accept that. All I do know is my car had a hurst shifter install in it before it was sold as a add on package by the Dealer and I love it! It may not be what comes from the factory but from the looks of the factory one, the factory look (with husrt decal) just doesn't do it for me. I Hope everyone gets a chance to drive a camaro with one of these shifters in it. It gives it that classic muscle car feel.

All GM part numbers are not 8 digit, as long as you are counting earlier GM cars. Most later part numbers are 8 digit but not all

The HURST version can be used with the stock shifter, or the chrome with white ball...

The FACTORY HURST being put in cars directly at the factory will be available through the parts department, now slated for about January 2011 (the demand has been overwhelming for it on factory orders) because of the demand. FACTORY HURST GM part # and price unknown so far -

I had to order a new knob (factory Hurst) due to a defect with the emblem and in order to get just the factory Hurst knob you need to buy the entire boot assembly per the dealer. When they do the instal I'll grab the part number.

The factory leather hurst had a defect, or the white ball? The white ball can be had by itself.

There is no part number for the GM Hurst shifter yet -

The factory leather Hurst had the defect. They ordered a new Hurst knob and got the whole boot/knob assembly.

This is how it showed up
