cat-back for ny(inspection problems)

it may have been covered, but i missed it. so induldge me please,,, i will have my car in a day or so. A6 2ss. i eventually would like to get a tune,,later. i want to get an (intake) and (exhaust) no headers,,,maybe axel back, or cat back, not crazy about alot of decel popping,,,,,for those of u in ny,, when it comes time for inpection, what options do we have for some sound, and alittle performance. i dont want to deal with a code problem with O2 sensors etc. may even go muffler delete,, but again,,dont want popping unless its minor. i,ve been reading exhaust and tune stuff for a while,,and its all starting to run together in my head. thx dan

you shouldn't have to worry about throwing any codes with a cat back or have any problems with O2 sensors. you will run into these problems when you decide to put headers on. also if you look at the top of the v8 section their are sound clips of different exhaust. i hope this helps

I have a Magnaflow street catback, which I love. No codes thrown. Passed my first NYS inspection, but, 1st year or two does not get emissions testing. I do not expect an issue though.

You wont have NY inspection problems...as long as you're not throwing any codes. If you do need to get emissions tested (in the future), a cat-back isn't going to effect that unless you delete the cats.

Since you have an A6, if you do any exhaust mods you're gonna want to get a tune to turn off the AFM to kill the drone.

If you just want it to sound better, just go w/ an axle-back...if you want a little more power and better throttle response, go w/ a cat-back. Decel popping shouldn't be too much louder unless you go w/ headers.

well, when i get a couple thsd miles on it i,m gonna tune it. if i get a cat back i,ll have to tune it soon anyway,,if not for the drone for the performance. car didnt show up today,,hopefully tommorrow. i kinda like the corsa catback. i might just get the cai intake then tune it stock, what did anyones stock A6 car with the corsa catback dyno #s vrs stock show. gains,,? 5hp,,more,,less.
