The perfect background song for the first Camaro TV commercial...Get Back!

Imagine the first Camaro TV commercial pops onto your TV screen......Up over the horizon comes our beloved Camaro, with the Beatles "Get Back" playing in the background! The 2010 Camaro, designed after the 1969 Classic SS Camaro, being introduced by a chart topper from 1969, Get Back! The intro to the song itself builds momentum into the commercial, and what a perfect fit. Get Back Camaro!, get back to where you once belonged!.....as a classic muscle car!

I know you Boomers are liking this, and if you younger Camaro enthusiasts have never heard the original version of the Beatles "Get Back", then do yourself a favor, find it and listen to it on a good system, and tell me you would not love to see "your" Camaro steal TV the screen with this classic rock song playing as an intro? This song was made to introduce the new Camaro..........Get Back, yeah get Back to where you once belonged.

lol, When I first read "get back", I thought you were talking about Ludachris' song (The rapper).

I thought "Move B**** Get out the way!" was a lot more fitting.

Because the Camaro doesn't care. lol

There was actually a rapper that put the concept in his video and was posted on here some time ago.

I don't remember who it was...

Definate generation gap here

A classic deserves a classic. Probably not a concept some young people appreciate, but I know that there are young people who recognize , and appreciate classics. Consider that Cadillac used Led Zepplin music for a commercial, The Who have been used in comercials, The Band's "the weight" and so on and so on. Classic rock is being used to sell all kinds of products today. I think rap is more popular with yoing people today than rock music, what a pity. Moreover, what a rip off!

lol Rob, calm down big fella.

I just listened to "Get Back" on the "roof top" and it sounds alright... I don't see how it quite fits with the muscle car though... I do see where your coming from.

Rock is still good sometimes and this song would appeal to a different crowd, not a bad idea.

You know you could try to be "inclusive" of all generations:

1. Show three people (musicians), driving in their generation of camaro, each playing their own music or generation of music
2. They all come to a four-way intersection and at the "4th" spot in the intersection is the NEW 2010 Camaro, blacked out and without it's own "tune"
3. As the different music styles start to blend in the background, the other drivers get out of their cars and start walking towards the NEW 5th Gen.
4. The 5th Gen door opens and out steps.....a big name musician...someone who has been crossing Generational lines, is a known car fanatic, etc....
5. And now the background music volume comes up and .....

You get the picture (I hope). I know that Kid Rock has done cross-genre music: rock/rap/country.....but isn't he a "ford" person?

I'm sure some Marketing "master" could refine this to be truly bitchin....hey that is an idea!! "Bitchin Camaro" by The Dead Milkmen

5.

Ummm, The Beatles are widely regarded as the founders of modern rock n roll, the most influential band in history, one of the highest grossing bands in history, and an icon of the world music stage.

How exactly would that legacy be one the Camaro wouldn't want associated with it?

Unfortunately I believe that most of The Beatles' songs' copyrights are owned by someone other than the remaining Beatles and thus it might be hard to get permission to use "Get Back". I'm not sure that's the one Beatles song I'd like to see used though, I'd have to think on it more.

Regardless, I think we're far more likely to see a commercial with some generic music in the background as a narrator extols the virtues and MPG rating of the V6.

The Beatles were my Mom's generation and I'm 41... <cough>

I think it would be better to appeal to more than *just* the damn baby boomers.
(sorry for the language but it sucks living in the shadow of the most spoiled, self-centered and numerous generation in the history of this country)

I would love to have Back in Black cranked out and show a Black 1969 transform into the 2010. When the driver checks his rear view you see a Mustang fading out.
