Perelli Tires

Stuck in Birmingham on my way to Ft Campbell, KY. I hit some road debris on I65 and my tire pressure warning system alerted me to my rear tire going flat. No damage to the rim thankfully. Here's the problem: No one here carries the tire (275-40 ZR20). I called back to Nashville and Lexington,Ky. It seems they are backordered or it will take 3-4? days to get. I'm putting on a different tire to get me home tonite. When i get home, I'm putting 2 rear tires on that I'm sure I'll be able to get if this happens again. Anyone else have similar problems with tire availability? 3-4 days isn't a big deL unless you need one while out of town! Ughhh!

I have them in stock. Shipping to Fort Cambell, KY is only 2 business days. Sorry to hear about the unfortunate flat.

Tires

Thanks but my problem was time and availability of a tire while on the road. Don't wanna spend 2 or 3 days away from home waiting for a tire. I'm replacing with a tire that is already available on the market in case this happens again. Thanks though. I'll use you in the future.

I'd be interested to know which tire you go with as a replacement. Even from Discount Tire, none of the 4 matched sized replacement tires (including the P-Zero) are in stock at any of the 15 stores near me. All have a 24-72 hour availability.

Pirelli P-Zero
Yokohama Parada Spec-X
Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Yokohama ADVAN ST

Sounds like you were on a road trip, my only concern here is if you stuck with a 275/40-20 size on that temporary tire. If you went with something that has a different outer diameter, this could damage the posi unit in your rear end. Two different diameter tires back there cause the posi unit to turn at different speeds on each side, which wears out posi unit.

That's exactly the reason I carry a front wheel and tire with me on road trips. My last trip through west Texas to Los Angeles, there isn't a whole lot out there if you get stuck. Since the recession, tire stores aren't stocking these expensive tires in sizes that only have a few applications, so now they all order them and usually can get in a few days. Tire Rack is your best option for overnight delivery.
