L99 Dyno Airaid/custom Magnaflow catback

Dynoed my Camaro today to get a baseline before trying obx headers to see if there really any good...

No tune in the car...
5K miles

Airaid/Magnaflow Magnapack/Resonated X
No other mods.

351RWHP/358RWTQ
(Dynocom Dyno reads RWTQ alittle higher but RWHP is very close to a Dynojet)
Car was RICH (11.9 to 5400 and then went to 12.8 from 5600 to redline )

Some people told me my car would be dead lean but it is not lean.
So the airaid imo is safe but it does idle ruff, we will fix that with tuning.

Now I will add the OBX (NO CATS) and run the car (NO TUNE)
Then tune the car for final numbers

Stay tuned for the results

Congrats! I hope you'll be posting the dyno numbers again after the headers and converter install. What is the STR of the converter and who is doing the TCM tune?

The verter is a pro-torque piece, about 3000 stall no more info needed

I really dont care about numbers, never did but people wanted to know if these headers were anygood. I figured even though I love Kooks and ARH andhave used them in the past I would try them to give an honest opinion..Bottom line to me is ET and I want to 1st get the bolton A6 Record and then try to go after the NA H/C Record. Dont think I am going to go FI or turn my Camaro into a race car, Just want a nice 11.50ish Street Car

Headers took 3.5 hrs to install (2 guys) taking our time. Fitment is excellent, sound was suprizingly quiet too but I do have a resonated x and my home brewed magnapack axleback. Used the connection bolts in the kit but a lock washer instead of the flat so not to come loose. No leaks at all, car feels much better above 3500 and its alittle snappier down low too..

Next up dyno monday (NO TUNE) to see what $400.00 headers are worth.
The we tune afterwards with final numbers.

Then its off to atco this week

You have no tune while working there? I couldn't stand my car,got tuned at 130 miles because it felt so crappy. No wonder you didn't like the car much..LOL

Scan the car and you'll see the tuning issue's and how it's correcting for the parts. After the airad I had to adjust the fuel over 12% to get the correction back in check.

Well we were on the dyno and is was rich (BEFORE HEADERS) but I do have the snotty idle that u experienced, I did put a trans tune in it and that REALLY helped...Now I will redyno and then tune to see what the OBX are worth, Again I still love the KOOKS/ARH but this was something I wanted to see and it wont be a big deal if they dont work..

Tuning AINT my bag as u know pal so I am aving it done at injection connection..Bolting on parts is one thing and tuning is chinese to me, I just like to push the throttle down once its done

When your ready shoot me your file. I got some tricks on the tuning that wakes it up bigtime. Then you guy's can fine tune the rest. My car just made 390rwtq the other day with the same mods. Stock was 335rwtq.

I have the info you guys all wanted...
Just left the shop that did the dyno runs...

I never dynoed the car stock so I have no info on what it made stock but I did dyno it last week with the CAI and Catback (NO TUNE)

Results are 351RWHP/358RWTQ

I then put the OBX Headers on the car.
I came back to the shop today, again we just ran it with no tuning

Results were 376RWHP/384RWTQ

CAR PICKED UP 25RWHP/26RWTQ (NO TUNING)

Here is the interesting part, we then tuned the car and it only picked up
6RWHP/11RWTQ

Results after tuning 382RWHP/395RWTQ

So it seems the OBX are for real, just wanted to pass the info along to guys that were interested in the results

I am now going to race the car (STREET TIRES)
Come back and install my PRO TORQUE CONVERTER AND REDYNO with TUNING AGAIN.

Then add Nitto Drag Radials and go back to the track
I WANT THE A6 BOLTON RECORD, HOPEFULLY I WILL GET IT UNLESS SOMEONE BEATS ME TO IT...

Street tune it. Making changes on the dyno doesn't help much for some reason.
