Just ordered Magnaflow 16483 Catback Exhaust

Just had to post because I am psyched! Been running the muffler delete and haven't really really happy with it (oh well, out $65). I've heard a couple of these systems broken in and they sound amazing. Deep sound but not too loud. Really looking forward to it. I ordered from JDP motorsports as their customer service was top notch and their pricing was unbelievable! So far my two vendor experiences (Janetty and JDP) have been amazing. Better than anything I dealt with on my last car (Honda).

Anyone that has this exhaust please feel free to chime in with comments. Thanks!

I know this is off topic but what do you think of suspension you have? I was thinking of doing the Pfadt package (springs/sway bars/end links)but unsure at this point.

I have the system and like it so far. I also ordered from JDP...killer price, killer service! The install was a breeze...just need a second set of hands to remove the stock system.

I have this system on my car. I installed it at about 400 miles and I now have 4300 miles on my car. It does get better with age. It has a very deep throaty sound. I have just bought Kooks LT's and haven't gotten them installed yet but I think it will be perfect.

Just wanted to update this post and say that I am extremely happy with this exhaust! It came in yesterday around 3 PM and was installed as soon as I got out of work thanks to someone in the area (also a member) who knew what he was doing.

The tone is SO MUCH cleaner than my previous setup (muffler delete), less popping, deeper tone, and unless it's in my head it feels a little more responsive and crisp when you are on the throttle. Looking forward to the exhaust opening up a little bit but even now i'm very happy.

Thanks Jordan and JDP!

Are you runing cats? If so, do you have any drone? I have been considering this system for a while but haven't found any confirmation on whether it drones or not with headers and high flow cats.
Thanks

I had the 2.5" Comp system on my car before. It is the muffler delete with resonated x-pipe. It did have some typical drone around the 1700-1900 range.

A couple months ago I had KOOKS, HF Cats, and the 3" Magnaflow put on. I have yet to hear any drone at all and the decel popping went from very noticable to almost completely gone.

The 3" Magnaflow and a set of LTs is a great combo.

Yep I have cats, if I have any drone at all it's at the 1500-1800 RPM range in 6th gear but it's minimal at best and not annoying.

The 3" Magnaflow 16483 is hands down my favorite system with LT's, the sound is AWESOME IMHO. I always hear people talking about drone and everyone's tolerance is different, to me this system doesn't have any drone with LT's but to someone else it might have a slight resonance between 1700-1900 RPM on the highway. It is minimal at best and we choose this system for our own build for what it's worth.

I've put on about 500-600 miles on the car since system was installed and I do notice it opening up a little bit in the low RPMS. It still has the "new exhaust" smell when you walk behind the car after you turn it off so I'm thinking that maybe there is still a little breaking in to do as someone else said earlier in the thread I REALLY want LT headers now but the age-old question of voiding the warranty is killing me. The more insane gains I see though, the more I'm tempted.

I've put just over 1K on my 16483 and it is starting to open up, it generally takes 1000-1500 miles to fully break-in. The 16483 with LT's sounds awesome!!!

I was really scarred (and actually am still a little concerned) about the warranty issue with a tune. My car was only about 7 mths old and I had about 3.5k miles on it when I did mine.

I finally decided WTH.....these are pretty solid engines and more than likely something going wrong that would cause the warranty to not cover the repair is kind of low. It can definately happen though and I'm hoping that if it does that it's either covered or not to expensive to fix myself.

I'll say that as of now (since nothing has gone wrong) I would definately do it all over again. LTs just help make the car. The sound.....The Power......all worth it in my book.

My car immedially dropped .5 in the 1/8th mile at the race track. I think I can get even more with some practice getting the car off the line. Where I was routinely getting spanked by Mustangs and Challengers I'm now beating them. It makes the occassional trip to the track much more fun.

Funny thing is this is the first car I've ever had that had some kind of warranty. All my other cars were used and either didn't have a warranty or didn't have very much of one left. So in the past I've always modded and raced cars knowing that if somehting breaks it's on me. Not even a chance of a dealer fixing it.

Another thing you should seach on is warranty issues being declined because of headers/tune. I still haven't seen anyone say that by having a tune their warranty claim was denied. I'm sure it has or will happen but I think the chances are lower than you might think.

Obviously you should do what you feel comfortable with but I do think that if you pulled the trigger you wouldn't regret it at all. You might even kick yourself for not doing it sooner.
