VA Emissions and LTs
Hey guys,
For those of you who have LTs on your rides, how were you able to get around our states emissions laws when tuning? Also, who/what performance shop did you take it to? Thanks. |

do they check for headers inVA for emissions? In MD, they hook up the obdii port and if you don't have any codes, you're good to go. Are you throwing any CEL's?

I haven't gotten them installed, yet. The way I understand the emissions procedures in VA is they hook up to the car's computer via to the OBD-2 port and read whether or not the computer has stored any codes. Additionally, all the readiness monitors must be set and reporting 'ready'. In VA, you can have up to 1 of the readiness monitors reporting 'not ready' before an automatic failure. I believe there is the option to do a visual inspection as well. |
