Best trani and dif fluids?

What is the best trani and rearend fluids to use to possibly free up some power for 1/4 mile and still protect well?

Royal purple makes a great product, only after the motor is broken in though...

I'm using Royal Purple in mine; Synchromax for the trans and Maxgear for the diff. Works like a champ.

Does the Syncromax help with the notchy feel and difficult 3rd gear issues? I tried Mobil1 but made it worse so I went back to GM stock fluid!

Mine shifts smoothly with no issues going from 2nd to 3rd. Trans and diff are quieter too.

I agree with Doc, actually took his advice from a previous post awhile back, and switched out the diff and manual tran fluid to RP. I staggered it, i switched the diff first (noticed a difference) and then the tranny (even more noticeable). It helped to smooth the shifts.

Thanks Doc.

For the Manual trans it uses 4.2 qts of Synchromax oil for the trans, and 1 qt Max Gear 75w90 for the differential. Synchromax doesn't have different weights; it's just Synchromax.

Has anybody else tried the Red Line D4 ATF for the M6? I ordered it but it hasn't come to my house yet, i will try to have it in there by the weekend. I also ordered their 75W90 diff fluid.

I used Royal Purple in mine and while at the C5 fest in GA. I never had a problem with my posi-traction in the rear "not" working. I seen a lot of different L99 and LS3's that were only spinning 1 wheel in the burn-out pit, not sure what was going on with their cars but mine never once broke to just one tire.

I used royal purple years ago and seemed like I was always burning it, then tried it in another truck with only 30k same thing... made the 30k motor look like it was 200k old, and when we popped the valve covers, and diff cover. very sludgy so ive seen.

amsoil is all ill ever run.

Maybe they forgot to disable the TC & Stability control?

I used to be a fan of RP, but after seeing what happened with my buddy's mazda when using RP i will steer clear. After buying 4qts for his tranny, he poured the 1st bottle in....no problems the fluid was as it should be. 2nd bottle... poured half the bottle in before realizing what was being poured....water!!

No kidding, it was nothing but water, we checked the other 2 bottles that were not opened and one of them seemed to be normal trans fluid, the other one was very watery. There were no signs of them being tamperd (ie. someone used the oil, refilled with water, and returned to store to be sold again) all the container seals were solid and factory. (all 4 bottles had same batch # too )

Long story short, it cost him a tow to dealer to get a trans flush, and more fluid to fill tranny.

I personally have never had an issue like that, and i realize there can be a flaw with any production line no matter how reputable a company may be. I feel RP has great marketing and a DECENT product. However i will choose a different manufacture from now on.
