MGW Installed

Net time about 2 hours... figured out a few better ways to do things then the instructions, notably the locking pins and the bushings... so it went pretty quick.


This thing is sturdy, and VERY nice. Feel is 200% improved over stock, and the shorter throw is perfect. Big fan

MRR M228 rims, phantom grill, vinyl wrapped hood and rear spoiler.

Hey cubjag,

Were you able to install the MGW shifter yourself or did you get it installed outside? I want to go with the MGW but the install might be beyond my capabilities. I see you're from Jax. Me too!

I'm curious to hear your method for swapping the bushings. I still have nightmares about that part of the install!

Its not hard at all. I just pushed mine out! The entire install is doable by a novice mechanic. Just go for it! Watch the videos and you'll see.

I already did it a few months ago. I found the bushings to be an absolute PITA! My thumbs hurt for a week!

Bench vise covered with microfiber tower + grease = 2 minute bushing swap (for both)

Basically once the vise starts to push the bushing into the rod arm, you just rotate the rod arm to seat the bushing as you slowly crank the vise in. Easy as pie.

Sorry just now saw this, I was able to install it myself with the help of a friend. It really isn't that hard if you follow the instructions. If I remember correctly getting the pin out is the hardest part.
