V6 Supercharger Project
Hey guys. Sorry, I don't get a chance to get on here as often anymore between work and school. Wanted to let everyone know about my new project. I'll be putting together a supercharger kit for the V6. Working with a local shop to have a custom bracket made. Right now just waiting to see what supercharger I can get cheapest. I'd like to use a Procharger P-1SC-1, but we'll see what funds will allow. Piping will route to an air to air fmic. I'll be talking to Vince about tuning, hopefully no issues there. Boost will probably be in the 6-8psi range, but we'll have to wait and see what the fuel limitations are. Once I find a supercharger I'll have a few brackets made at the same time to keep price down, so if everything works out I'll have some brackets with idlers/tensioners ready to bolt on for sale at cost plus shipping to those interested. Maybe even full kits in the future. Anyways, It's gonna take some time. Money is tight as always, so all I ask is be patient. I'll keep you updated as things progress.

Force feeding a engine making over 11:1 CR is a challenge. It will be so prone to detonation. Hope all goes well and keep us updated!

yeah, that's a challenge we'll have to face when it comes. 6-8psi isn't a huge amount of boost, but it's plenty to break things if the tune isn't up to par. Luckily the high pressure of the direct injection system creates a cooler fuel charge in the combustion chamber, and we'll be experimenting with 100 octane pump and possibly some VP fuels. I know there will be some challenges, but I'm confident that we can get the system to work reliably.

why does it seem like the GM company gave all of it's focus to the V8's and gave the V6's the shaft?!:upset: every time i go to look at some mods on summit racing or any other online store the first thing i look for is forced induction, not for now but for sometime in the future. It seems like the only forced induction kits out are for the V8!! they are already making a butt load of power!! they don't need any more!! lol

You always need more power! A greater precentage of people with the V8 do mod their cars when compared with V6 owners. I think that is changing now that we have seen a whole generation of kids modding 4 cylinder cars. GM and after market manufacturers get that (look at the cobolt), they just haven't quite transferred that knowledge to the V6. I think this car will maybe tip them over to "our side." It make great power and we will soon have a slew putting down V8 times at the track.

I disagree. I think you will want two bigger turbos to prevent building boost at two low RPMs. These tranny's probably can't handle more than about 340 TQ below 3-3.5K. At higher RPMs they are seem to be handling the power okay. My 2 cents anyway.
